conflicting natures

A Native American elder once described his own inner struggles in this manner. Inside of me are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean and evil. The other is good. The mean dog fights the good dog all the time. When asked which dog  wins, he reflected for a moment and relied, “The one I feed the most,” George Bernard Shaw.

Who has not struggled with those inner beasts? They manifest themselves sometimes in subtle ways. No matter how the Apostle Paul saw both the problem and the solution. Saying, no such manifestation can over taken you except that which is common to all people. But God is faithful, who will not allow anyone to be plagued with their struggles beyond what is bearable. But with such manifestations He will make a way for change. (cp. 1 Corinthians 10:12-13, with exegesis).

It’s a matter of knowing your Bible, so that anyone can change their lives. It’s all apart of grace meaning God’s riches at Christ’ expense.

when all is said and done what will it be

“If you can’t do great things, do small things in a great way,” Napolean Hill.

Wonder what Napolean would think about minding ones own business, as a small way of doing a great thing.

Now thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowlwdge in every place.

For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved, and among those who are perishing.

To the one we are the aroma of death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. Who is sufficient for these things? (cp. 2 Corinthians 2:14-16),

Answer, those who walk the Christ talk without the need for the fanfare of recognition. The Spirit of God is the silent carrier and convictor of our Christ fragrance.

Note according to Jesus, “The Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. Of sin because they do not believe in Me, of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you will see me no more. Of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.” (cp. John 16:8-11).

It’s not that God needs me or you to accomplish His purposes Because He has already declared that He will act according to His own counsel and pleasure. (cp. Isaiah 46:9-10).

We are His fragrance as a matter of privilge. But God is merciful and gracious. Declaring, “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me to give to everyone according to their work. Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. (cp. Revelation 22:12;14).

this is it when all is said and done

“A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing,” George Bernard Shaw.

It’s what happens when you life by this Shaw principle. “You see things and you say why? But I  dream things that never were, and say why not!” George Bernard Shaw.

Shaw, and many others like him, have accomplished in some instances, not only the unthinkable, but the seemingly impossible.

But here is the how and why of their occurrence. ” To every thing there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. What profit has the worker from that which they work? I have seen the God given task with which the sons and daughters are to be occupied. God has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out their work that God does from the beginning to the end. I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good with their lives. And also that everyone should eat and drink and enjoy the good of their labors because it is a gift from God.” (cp. Ecclesiastes 3:1; 9-13).

things verses understanding

“If we hope to understand the very violent world in which we live, and unless we try to understand it, we can not confine our attention to the personal forces natural man made which act upon us,” Isaiah Berlin, philosopher and historian of ideas, 1907-1997.

The following is the beginning of the solution. “Oh, how I love your ways! They occupy my thoughts all day. You, through your teachings, have made me wiser than my enemies, for they ever after me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my mediation’s. I understand more than the ancients because I keep your precepts. I restrain my feet from every evil way, that I might keep your word. I have not departed from your ordinances, for you have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste. Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth. Through your precepts, I get understanding, therefore, I hate every evil way.” (cp. Psalms 119:97-104).

As we all know, the roadways of life are dangerously treacherous with the unexpected always waiting to destroy us. Minimize the unexpected by maximizing, Proverbs 4:7, which advocates, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom, and with all your getting get understanding.” But it must be done in conjunction with the aforementioned Psalms.

Combined together, they’ll direct you to other scriptural pathways, that will help in growing you into the person you really long to become. Every beautiful edifice wasn’t so beautiful with just the laying of the foundation. Nor every beautiful flower with the planting of the bulb.

broken worlds

What follows, is one of the most significant piece of information ever provided to earthlings. Though little doubt exists that most will disagree. Until they experience the fallout which by then, recollection won’t matter. What most do not know is that they are experiencing the fallout.

It all started with a few simple words which would become a world changer. Which were, “go in to my maid.” With Sarai continuing  saying, “I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram, offered no objections, and took full advantage of the opportunity. Hostilities soon emerged and Abram said, “Take your servant women and do with her as you please.” Soon the young woman felt endangered, she fled!

On her journey to nowhere, out of fear, she too had a life changing experience. There she sat by a spring of water. Pondering to herself, “What will become of me?” When unexpectedly, she had an out of this world experience. An angel found her, and he asked, “What’s going on?” Replying, she said, “For my well being, I got to get as far away from my mistress as possible.”

Now hold on, said the angel, “Return to your mistress and persevere under her cruelty.”

Could well have been that this was no ordinary angel. But God himself exercising his prerogative to astral project himself. Saying, “Behold you are with child, and shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael. Because the LORD, has heard your affliction.

One would think that this pregnant women would have had an angry reaction to what she was to be told. “He shall be a wild man. And every man’s hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presences of all his brethren.” She didn’t have an angry reaction instead she make a statement and asked a question. “You are the God who sees. Have I seen him, who sees me?” A question for the reader, are you able to see him, who sees you? For most of us, we see God through his Word, and God sees us through his Word. God painted a picture for us through his Word which allows us to know the end from the beginning. It’s complicated, but it’s there for those who want to know.

God had a conversation with Abram telling him that from now on he would recognize him as Abraham. Also instructing him that from now on his wife was to be known as Sarah. What was to follow under different circumstances most likely would have brought a different reaction. But at 100 some things seem impossible. Like when God told Abraham that his wife would give birth to a son whom he was to name Isaac. And that Sarah, would become the mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her. Hearing all this bizarreness was to much for Abraham. Losing his balance from laughter he fell and mocked God. Mockingly asserting, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old bear a child?” And then with audacity, he made one of histories great mistakes. “Oh!” “That Ishmael might live before you!”

And so it was to be, Ishmael would be the father of the Islamic world. A world that will eventually obliterate kings that Sarah would birth. One in particular revealed through his Word, as the Daughter of Babylon; known to all to few, as the United States.

God responded to Abraham’s tirade this way. “As for Ishmael, I have heard you! Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I shall make him a great nation.”

What can we learn about that great Islamic nation. His Word tell us that its a kingdom and is very different from any other kingdom that ever existed. And that will be the discussion, for tomorrow.Subject

Subject matter for the prudent. Learn all you can because we are living in times of traumatic seasons like no other. Like the projected effects of climate change. That will not be reversed. Because, God has been insulted. Engaged through the Contact Us link on my home page. Living room conversations work well, as do other forums where people can gather.
