Many people argue that they see the cup half half empty, as opposed to half full. Other slogans like draw outside of the box, or why be normal. When in reality when it really counts seeing the cup half empty. Staying well inside the box, hoping to shrink its dimensions or dangers.
Acting like a turtle retreating inside its shell because being inside creates an atmosphere of safety. Defined as being normal.
That other stuff puts one outside of shell and at risk. So in the end, most condemn the boldness of those who say, ‘Why be Normal.’ Behaving otherwise puts themselves and ‘us’ at risk.
All because they have difficulty seeing the Gospels of Mary and Thomas (introduced yesterday) as having the same credibility as the more traditional Gospels of Matthew – John.
And this writer responds by asking why not? After all it is written, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the people of God may be thoroughly finished unto all good works.” (cp. 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Arguing for the stability of civilization, people must live within the box. Voicing other opinions, or by seeing them in any other way is abnormal and counter productive.
One of this writers favorite reactions for such arguments is that God put certain people in place for determining how one should look at the contents in the cup. Clearly directing these gifted ones to determine the extent of say democracy from the contents of within the box. And their determination of normality is their God given gift.
All of which this Padre considers as nonsense. Because it limits imagination, and creativity. Mandating the acceptance of a predetermined society by selected power brokers. Instigated by corporate conglomerates and passed unto their lap dogs, the United States Congress. Review yesterdays discussion.
It is argued by some that the Bible in itself is of questionable authority. They point to the fact that we do not have the original texts.
What we have is one translation after another provided to us by ordinary people. Although these people were considered distinguished scholars and translators.
People with personal agendas; and connected to power, might well have had personal reasons, for wanting particular translations, to favor particular reasoning. When it comes to reasoning power always wins.
Especially, when the outcome is of such great importance to the various power structures within the ruling classes.
They are multiple in number and must unite to control the greater masses of ordinary people.
An efficient way is to control them through their religious superstitions via their Bible. Fixated in their minds by Knighted Hierarchical Theist divided into endless church denominations, and other like minded institutions tagged as religious cults.
When King James of England, commissioned the Bible to be translated from its ‘original language’ into English. It was not from the ‘original languages’ of the Hebrew and Greek.
By the time 1611 had rolled around, sufficient manipulation had taken place, favored by the ruling powers. Resulting in its originality having been so compromised. To the degree that any authentic transitional reliability became very suspect.
Biblical historians reported that King James brought impressive scholars with the very best of interpretative and transitional skills. Four hundred years later the task was finally accomplished.
One can only imagine the haggling that occurred between one generation to the next. Adding credence of non-reliability to the authenticity of the Bible.
They gave the world the King James version of God’s dealing with humanity. With its accompany degrees of entanglements between what would become nation states. And because of that; end time scenarios, for closure of human existence on earth, become very questionable.
It’s suspected that they excluded much that written and said about God. Written by Moses through to the many other credited biblical authors.
Including the absences of what Mary, Thomas and others by inspiration are alleged to have written. Establishing proof that those scholarly giants were plagued with personal biases.
Knowing what we all know about human character. Seems like the skeptics got it right. That it is not possible that the world has a pure translation from any original scrolls to what became the King James Bible.
And today we have the New King James Version, NKJB. And one of the updater’s to the original KJB, was done by no other then, one of the deans, where this Padre earned his theological credentials. I remember him as a person of ego over substance. It seemed what mattered most were letters after his name. Most likely the entire committee echoed like credentials.
If that’s any indication of scholarly credentials; then critics, of those put together over 400 yrs the KJB have successfully sealed their doubts.
Some might wonder just what does all that mean for the body of believers, who through Jesus Christ are His churches. And those structures that we see; and some attend, are nothing more than imitations, for the assembly of His true church.
With many of us being firm believers in Jesus Christ, and everything written about Him. Not from any human historical derivatives, but from personal, and intimate life transforming experiences.
All that was experienced by this writer on, 05 February 1954, at 1800 hrs. Without a Bible, or any human contact, in the most deplorable of circumstances.
Finally I secured a Bible, and started reading it. Approximately 18 months later, I discovered what had so dramatically changed my life.
Recorded by the Apostle Paul. “If anyone is in Christ, they have become new creations. Old things have passed away, and all things have become new.” (cp. 2 Corinthians 5:17).
If you can’t identify with that transformation. Experience it through following the prompts found in Romans 10:9-10.
Then notice verses 11-13, all of which creates the universality so many seek. And if our paths don’t cross in this world, they will in the next.
Through such experience, as churches, we see the connection between the Old and New Testaments. Eradicating any, and all shenanigans intended or unintended by those interpreters translators of scriptural scrolls into what became the King James Bible.
Giving us some intriguing occurrences through out history. Despite any power plays caused by manipulations of biblical texts down through the centuries. With enough authority to silence the critics and skeptics concerning the authenticity of the Bible.
Like the reestablishment of Israel as a nation state in 1948. That singular event resulted in the fulfillment of two biblical prophecies.
It is written in Jeremiah 23:3, “And I will gather the remnant of My people out of all countries to which I have driven them, and will bring them again to their lands, and they shall be fruitful and multiply.”
Then from Isaiah 41:18, this text appears. “I will open the rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.” This is often referred to as the “flowering of Israel.”
From the barren, and dry lands of the desert, Israel was able to produce an envious world class economy. Also known for their advancements in the field of medicine. Along with becoming a military power of world renown.
All this from lands once inhabited by Arabs, who could not produce a sustainable economy, let alone an envious world class economy.
Because of the majesty of all that, came many personal life transforming experiences through Jesus Christ.
While some might argue that spiritual experiences are based upon emotions. Because the existence of Israel, results in some a recognition, that only a higher power must have been involved.
So Christian opportunist take advantage of the moment to bring the unsuspecting into Christendom. It’s a favorite tactic of certain evangelical cults. Emotional responses seldom last. At best, they settle in as Sunday go mornings jockeys. With no active involvement in the causes Christ enumerate, say in, Matthew 25:35-40.
And such religious experiences, as the critics rightly say, only offers proof that nothing about Christendom is legitimate.
Arguing that, period updates through the centuries was and is necessary, in order to manage the masses. Done in the name of a fictitious character that never existed.
To that I say, “The just shall live by faith.” (cp. Romans 1:17. The believers faith is predicated upon, “… the saving grace of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes ….” (cp. Romans 1:16).
Faith is intimate, and personal, as detailed in the aforementioned experience of this writer. And, millions of others through those same centuries.
God always has the last word. “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, so be it!’ (cp. Revelation 22:21).
All this despite the power grabs, and manipulative interpretations that might have occurred, as a result of 400 hundred years of translations. Nevertheless the prophecies of Jeremiah 23:3 and Isaiah 41:18, fulfilled in our lifetime.
Equally important is the following truth. Because, it occurs constantly every day. “Inasmuch then, as the children, of men and women, have partaken of flesh and blood. He Himself likewise shared in the same, that though death He might destroy him, who had the power of death, that is the devil.” (cp. Hebrews 2:14).
The point being that the King James Bible is most like seriously flawed. Nevertheless. enough verifiable truths escaped from being tarnished. Making it God’s voice as a marvelous gift to humanity.
But for ones own spiritual growth, much remains to be learned from Mary’ and Thomas’ Gospels, and other such writings.
They were set aside some argue by personal biases. Especially against women because they did not want to encourage the empowerment of woman.
Certainly the historical record of Christianity has been to keep woman in their rightful place. Subservient to male dominance in and outside of the home.
Thus robing the world of gifted woman to advance the causes of Christ. And also, reaching all aspects of secular life.
Those men appointed by a King James were commissioned to determined what would become the canonized Bible. Making it the authentic Bible from their male perspective.
When it comes to spirituality, seeing the glass half full represents what’s wrong with modern Christendom.
We must all condition ourselves to think, and act outside of the box. Doing so results in escaping Christendoms normality.
All in accordance with the standards champion by Christ, our perfect example. So in the end we must mimic the Christ, and not that of the turtle.
“He who testified to these things declared, surely, I will come quickly. Even so, come. Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of us. So be it!” (cp. Revelation 22:20-21).
