beauty of transcendence pt 11

Divine Providence easily accomplishes the usual, but the beauty of transcendence is that God can go to realms, where the humanly impossible exists.

And that’s what happen to Eliphaz, in yesterdays discussion. Eliphaz, puts it this way, “Now a word was secretly brought to me, and my ear received the whisper of it. Disturbing his sleep, and rattling his equilibrium with shocking fear. Because suddenly, an unrecognizable entity passed before him, but said nothing, other then to offer a frightening stare.

Suddenly a voice spoke asking Eliphaz a series of questions and making some astounding statements. That unrecognizable voice and spirit was God Himself. Who else, but God has the ability to penalize angels, when sins are committed by them?

Continuing His tongue lashing by declaring the useless existence of humanity, when they elect to live lives apart from the edicts of their Creator.

An expanded analytical review to a better understanding of, Job 4:12-5:7, as well as to introduce today’s discussion.

Eliphaz regains his bearings and responds. “But as for me, I will seek God, and to God commit my case. Who does great things, which are unfathomable to human reasoning, marvelous things without number. Like sending rain to the fields of the earth. While being in control of all of humanities experiences, some favorable while others not so favorable.

But, this is the ultimate of God’s dealings with his creation. Where this exhortation is given, “Behold, happy is the man (Job) whom God corrects; therefore, do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. For He bruises, but He binds up; He wounds, but His hands make whole.”

That truth is applicable today because we have God’s word to that fact. It’s just applied differently, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. Because whatever a person sows that is what they will reap.” (cp. Galatians 6:7). Kinda of harmonizes with and ancient adage, “What goes around comes around!”

Here’s what to be mindful about because some folks become discouraged, when they discover what appear to be promises God makes, however, those promises don’t work for them.

Why is that so, because they may not be applicable to you or me. But written for a specific person or groups of people. Like Job and Eliphaz.

Here are some examples, “He shall deliver you from six troubles, yes in seven, no evil shall touch you.”  There is no limitation as to how many times evil might occur during any one day, or during the course of ones lifetime.

Recall from previous discussions the target was Job. Resulting in discussions between God and Satan. That Job through hardships would curse and denounce God. Based upon the assumption that Job would do anything to avert any tragedies that would cripple his empire and result in the death of his ten children.

It’s easy to understand the non-applicability of these statements. “In famine, He shall redeem you from death. And in war, from the power of the sword. Everyone knows that the lack of food claims many lives every day. Continuing wars continue to claim lives even today. Satan was restricted from taking Job’s life. And that’t the applicability of those statements.

Here is the finality of everything. “Behold this we have searched, and it is true, know yourself!” (cp Job 5:27).

Also for this discussion, a scriptural analysis of, Job 5:8-27, was used for clarity of interpretation.

Life has its bumps and bruises most go it alone. The truly few survive those bumps, and bruises through their personal relationship with Jesus the Christ.
