dreams to live hope to give

The previous day was a very busy day for Jesus. In total, Jesus used fifteen different stories to illustrate His various doctrines. This padre touched upon one of them by discussing the saga of the landowner.

So here is another one, and it’s important because there Jesus clearly draws the line. Making it very clear, concerning some of what He expects Christians to accomplish. It is referred to as the parable of the sheep and the goats. For discussion purposes, it can be tagged, dreams to live and hope to give.

It is significant for reasons other than Christian service to the community. It is the last time that Jesus would visit the temple. Soon thereafter, the Hebrew law would be set aside, and the age of grace would be offered to the world community.

For years, I have been very fond of an acronym for grace. It is the featured event of Holy Week, but one would never think so with the emphasis on new clothes, colored eggs, and chocolate bunnies. A disgrace to the holiness of Holy Week. The acronym is as follows. for “g” God, “r” Riches, “a” At, “c” Christ, “e” Expense.” The central message of Holy Week but not the only message of importance.

The known world at the time of Christ was to experience the most phenomenal event in world history. The ushering in and the establishment of Christianity. Only to be followed by yet another phenomenal event. Recorded in Revelation 19:15, “He will smite the nations ruling them with a rod of iron.” With the grand climax occurring as pronounced in Matthew 25:34. “…. Come you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

That folks is the complete history of Holy Week and the age of grace. It’s what we Christ followers have to look forward to, when we walk the talk and when necessary pay the price. Perhaps to experience contempt, prosecutions, jail and even death.

What we do not know is, when will Jesus end the madness, of and, between the nations? And when will the blessed of His Father, inherit the promised kingdom? What we do know is that turbulent times will come into existence. Sometime during the later part of the age of the church and beyond.

Making it virtually impossible for rational states to exist and govern from a perspective of sanity. Mainly because the multiple swirling of catastrophic events. Pandemics such as COVID-19. Resulting with their own life defying complications.

But as time proceeds other pandemics will torture humanity, “In those days people will seek death, and will not find it. They will desire to die, but death will flee from them.” Scriptural text: Revelation 9:6.

Causing unemployment, starvation and clean water shortages. Including unprecedented powerful earthquakes hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding and droughts because of global warming. Is it any wonder that we’ll find humanity begging that death might capture them?

The last message Jesus delivered at the temple set the standard for Christian behavior. Jesus said that failure to preform this duty would have serious consequences. So adamant was Jesus that He promised to someday gather the people of all nations to a summit at the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. Note Matthew 25:32.

Jesus compared this summit as a division between sheep and goats. There they would have to give an account for their successes or failures. The sheep are the righteous for they honored their Christian responsibility while the goats failed.

The reward the sheep experience is recorded in Matthew 25:34. With the King saying to the sheep. “Come you, blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” Why? “Hungry, thirsty, stranger, naked, sick, imprisoned, and you provided for My basic survival needs,” verses 35-36. They asked, “When did we do this?” verses 37-39, Jesus answered, “… inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it to me,” verse 40. This section should be read in conjunction with yesterday’s discussion, “The economics of Holy Week.”

The experience of the goats is recorded in verses 41-46. They wanted to know from Jesus when had they failed. Jesus simply answered. Failure to provide for the peoples basic needs for survival is the same as not doing it for Me. The goats will go away into everlasting punishment. While the sheep, experience life eternal.

Envision our Christ like responsibility as a series of necessities to be accomplished. We must pattern our lives after His. And, with determination execute the aforementioned directives  Jesus demanded of His sheep.

Not as duty, but as passionate love for those in need. For all Christians, it should encompass all of our lives daily. One person at a time and one issue at a time. Done without a lot of noise or notice. Especially, with issues, which usually represented projects of some sort of controversy.

The Christ reference to “imprisonment,” verse 36, has caused this Padre to speculate on what was meant by that expression. Concluding that those behind bars should be visited. But the deeper metaphorical meaning is represented by people, imprisoned by life’s cruel circumstances, verse 40. Some self inflicted and others by circumstances beyond their control.

As Christ followers, we should look for opportunities to offer hope. Remember, hope to give. Done with no noise or notice just hope from those with dreams to live. The point being that it is something all Christ followers can do. Few of us can change the world, but all of us can help a little.

This day in the life of Jesus moves on with it being a day of teaching. Making it a rather peaceful day for Jesus. But, not for the religious leaders. One can only imagine how Jesus upset them. Talking about setting aside their law dating back hundreds of years. This talk about everlasting life or eternal punishment. Jesus claiming foreknowledge of His death. But the death would only be temporary because of His resurrection, ascension to to be with His Father, later to return and establish a kingdom on earth.

Wow! they must have concluded. This is the talk of a crazy man who is becoming more dangerous to the existing establishment. They must have thought, if this continues there may well be a revolution.

A successful revolution was possible they thought. Because more, and more people were siding with Jesus. What to do, they wondered. With the high priest Caiaphas presiding they concluded that they would have to capture Jesus by surprise and kill Him, Matthew 26:2-4.

But they would have to over come a major hurdle because it was nearing Passover. And they did not want to further enrage the people. They would need assistance, and the assistance they would receive would came from the inside. One by betrayal and the other by denial which in itself is picturesque. Meaning His sheep with dreams to live and hope to give can expect adversity to strike from the unexpected.

People are needed especially those who want to change the world the Christ way. In the previous discussions it was suggested that it could be accomplished by up setting the apple cart. Implementing the duality of Matthew 21:41,… destroy those wicked men and create a new vineyard where economic justice is a justice of the work force.

For this discussion changing the world the Christ way is offering dreams to live and hope to give. All in accordance with Matthew 25:37-40.

Not one of us? Join the Christ family by following the prompts found in Romans 10:9-10. Then notice verses 11-13, all of which creates the universality so many seek. And if our paths don’t cross in this world, they will in the next.

economics of Holy Week

After yesterdays work, Jesus returned to Bethany to stay with Mary. Mary was a close confidant of Jesus. Mary seemed to have an intuition as to what Jesus needed. This created a certain amount of jealousy among the disciples. It also seems to have been the determining factor as to why Judas betrayed Jesus.

After a good nights rest Jesus returned to Jerusalem, where He spent most of the day in the temple teaching. He liked to tell illustrative stories that often had two meanings. Which interesting enough can be applied to American economics. He told a number of them that day. For this discussion, one of those stories will be presented.

Jesus tells the story of a property owner. The owner developed the property, and then leased the property to some farmers. Apparently, this particular property owner was a person of considerable wealth. As he lived a distance from that property, perhaps in another country.

When the time was right, he sent his employees to collect his compensation from the rent of his land. But the employees upon arriving, encountered some tragedies.

That did not please the property owner. So he dispatched a larger contingency of employees, who met the same fate.

Determined to get what he considered fair compensation from his investment. He decided to send his son. Thinking that they would respect him because he was heir to his fortune and most likely a powerful and influential man himself. Concluding that hurting the son would result in swift judgment upon the farmers by the authorities.

America the beautiful, that’s the history of democracy. Crush the workers equity for the sake of the profiteers. Corporate conglomerates, U.S. presidency’s  and congresses. Supported by the nations judiciary. All aided and abetted by lobbyist for centuries. In the early days property owners used slave labor to build their farms and toil their lands. And if the slaves ran away, and were caught they were severely punished.

That did not deter the farmers. Upon hearing that the owner was sending his son. They conspired among themselves, as to how they might kill him and seize his inheritance. When the opportunity presented itself, they murdered the son.

Jesus then asked those gathered in the temple, what they thought the lord or owner would do to those farmers? They answered Jesus, saying that the owner will, “Miserably destroy those wicked men, and will lease his vineyard to other farmers, who will render to him the fruits in there seasons.” (cp. Matthew 21:33-41).

The question Jesus asked, and the answer, is the most profound q/a of social economic realities in the history of labor relations. No matter how ancient or modern because it has and always will be the intent of capitalist to crush the workers. The church is the answer to such abusive behavior. But, the church for the most part is impotent concerning the issues of economic fairness.

Contrast that with the Holy Week Jesus walked, with the Holy Week most churches are presenting about His walk. And it is absent His struggles against unfair secularism’s, and meaningless religious institutions.

Churches should pay taxes on the income they earn during worship services. They should also pay property taxes. And all other paraphernalia that earns them money. All of that money should go to help the poor in the area’s of housing, food, childcare and healthcare.

For means of income churches should sell church memberships. Weddings, and baptisms should also be taxed. All that might help unite America, as opposed to the current effect of dividing America.

Jesus was a constant critic of economics. From the above story, He does not condemn the earning of money or reaping the profits from investments. It is about the lack of fairness that is central to the story. There is something about fairness or the lack thereof in economics that undresses people.

Jesus said, “Therefore by their fruits you shall know them.” (cp. Matthew 7:20), Which allows us to discover true character, whether its that of the collective group of economic conglomerates, who care only about profits for themselves, or that of individuals, who want a fair share of those profits. Because after all, people are the ones, who make the nations varied vineyards productive.

From the history Jesus shared about the householders and the farmers. Their opposing struggles, are one for excessive profits, and the other for economic justice. A fair dollar, for a fair hour of work. Failure to do so results in stealing from the workers. In the lifetime of Jesus and in ours too. Denying economic fairness to the workforce, is the story of labor history. It is filled with beatings, stoning and even murders.

A close examination of Genesis 3:19 would indicate that God instituted the first economic system on earth. By your sweat and labor you will earn a living, penned Moses.

Carried over into this story and taught in the temple. It is a story about economic fairness. The farmers represent today’s work force. Being taken advantage of by the householder, today’s corporate conglomerates. and their government. Who by denying the farmers today’s workforce a fair share in the market place of economics. (cp. Matthew 21:33).

Also according to, Matthew 21:33, the landowner makes available his land for the farming of fruit. With the corporate conglomerates as landowners refusing to equitably share the profits with the farmers or workforce. When the landowner seeks his compensation from his investment, it is refused. (cp. Matthew 21:34-35). That could have been the worlds first organized strike strategy taught by Jesus. No wonder they wanted Jesus dead.

As was, discovered from my discussion yesterday. Better is the way of unfairness, and even death, then to let the ways of Jesus and his teachings prevail. We the people should continuously yell, Hosanna meaning Jesus liberate us!

One application, among many, for our Christ parable is the soaring costs for survival. Today we should refuse to pay those conglomerates what they consider fair compensation for making their products available to the buying public.

There are many ways to do this. One way is to buy only what’s absolutely necessary. Plan your business, so that it becomes unnecessary to add extra miles because something was forgotten.

Some have dollar limits on certain purchases like gasoline. They find themselves spending less because they have put limits on their weekly millage. For them, they have saved a considerable amount of money. While refusing the gasoline conglomerates, what they would prefer to collect from them. To each their own.

But all drivers need to take some course of action to cripple these gasoline conglomerates. As they say, it be us or them baby! Some driver’s prefer that it is them! Don’t be tricked by falling gas prices. None of those oil conglomerates are starving or going naked.

And the same tactics, with adjustments, can be applied to all the other reckless profiteers. Which includes all levels governments whether local, state or the feds.

Think not! That reckless taxation is not reckless profiteering. For this scenario, they represent the landowners and we the people the farmers. As the farmers in the story resisted, we to need to resist, and kill the householder economically.

The crippling power of the strike accomplishes miracles for the paycheck with much forbearance over time. But the farmers, must be united. In today’s world the landowners have killed the farmers, sorry state of affairs it is!

For the timid, organize work slow downs and called absences because of fair the weather flu. Like the occasional nation wide bravery of fast food chain employees. All such behaviors contribute to killing the landowners. Absent the violence by the farmers because the farmers can not inherit their due inheritance. If the landowner, is completely destroyed by the farmers. Generally, just the right mix of non-violent violence will do what is necessary.

For all my anti-union readers out there, have you ever noticed that your bosses are often the perfect persona of the Christ image of a landowner by being anti-union? Why? Simple answer for oppressive and controlling reasons. Mostly centered around low wages and benefits.

Don’t buy their argument, we can’t afford to pay more. We’re so broke that we have to cut your benefits. They have money to give outrageous bonuses to those within landowner hierarchy. And, lots of money to spend cloning politicians. Who then write laws at both the state and federal levels, that cripple the farmers. Wake up fellow farmers and fight for your inheritance.

Remember the Christ way is not easy but it is a necessary way. It’s all about changing yourself, so you can change your world.

Then the landowner errors again, but still determined to rob the farmers, he sends his son, who suffers the loss of his life. (cp. Matthew 21:36-39).

That is the history of capitalistic economics. No matter how oppressive it is to the farmers with suppressed salaries, and other consumer costs.

Corporate landowner profiteering will rebound with the war cry of Matthew 21:41, … destroy those wicked farmers the toiling workers of America. And create a new vineyard where economic injustice will again prevail.

Which is exactly what has occurred with one presidential election after another. Including of course every congressional election. American politics is all about the rescue of those collective landowners at the expense of the farmers, the tax payers.

For awhile they will prevail, as this is their kingdom, the kingdom of the ungodly. The farmers or workforce are its captives because of Genesis 3:19, which teaches, by your sweat and labor you will earn a living.

As did Christ, we should continue to resist such unfairness and fight for economic equality. That is the desired outcome of the worlds first economic system instituted by God and as recorded in Genesis 3:19

This is what we Christians call Holy Week. It commemorates the work, suffering, death and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. (cp. Matthew 21:42). It’s what we Christians need to cling to. Jesus said to them, “Have you not read the scriptures, Psalms 118:22-23, “The stone which the builders rejected, the same became the head of the corner; this is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.”

Suggesting that Christ is the corner stone that holds the foundation of resistance together. And indeed, it should be marvelous in the eyes of the Christ community. Life with its varied adversities does not always play out as we would like. But they will play out according to God’s plan.

Because He is the corner stone, that holds our foundation together. The ultimate victory is ours through that marvelous corner stone for whom this week commemorates. His work, suffering a brutal murder and then a victorious resurrection. The very foundation that will usher in His kingdom on earth, someday in the future.

As we pass through a world that knows no fairness because it is not the world of God’s kingdom. The Christian community is redeemed by the sacrificial slaughter of Jesus Christ, Revelation 19:11-16. Which reads, “And I saw heaven open and, behold, a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He does judge and makes war.”

His eyes were like a flame of fire, And on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written that no man knew, but He Himself.”

“And He was clothed with a vesture (His body crucified) dipped in blood; and His name was called the Word of God.”

“And the armies that were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.”

“And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He will smite the nations, and He shall rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press with the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”

“And He had on His written and on His thigh His name, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

This Messianic promise is our experience today because we were made clean by His body being covered with blood. The very WORD of GOD, verse thirteen. With our futures being secured in His victorious return to earth. (Scriptural texts:Revelation 19:14-16).

The Christ message of Holy Week is twofold. Change your yourself and change your world. It starts with self. Renouncing behaviors opposed to the teachings of Christ. Then embrace His exhortation for newness of life. Then taking up the cause of the cross, for a work place of justice. Then your life, and work will take on new meaning. Keeping in mind our Chief cornerstone is available to help those now, who want to change the world the Christ way. By upsetting the apple cart by reversing the war orders of all economic oppressors found in Matthew 21:41 … destroy those wicked men and create a new vineyard where economic justice is a justice of the work force.

Not in my Father’s house

Here we are a short time after Palm Sunday. Jesus on this day in history, is still in Jerusalem, and enters the temple, the Jewish house of worship. There He discovered that the temple had become a place of commerce. With great indignation, He astonishes everyone!

Driving everyone out of the temple of God that either sold or bought. Charging the entrepreneur’s, as money changers and overthrowing their tables. Admonishing them saying that His house was a house of prayer, but that they had turned it into a “den of thieves!” (cp. Matthew 21:12-13).

Suggesting that commerce was more important to the religious authorities than providing for the needs of the people. A condition that haunts and plagues Christianity today. A reading of the gospels combined with the Gnostic gospels shows a Christ, who cared little about profit. His interest was about providing for their spiritual and economic needs.

In, Matthew 21:14, we see Jesus caring for the ordinary needs of the people. With the children responding saying, Hosanna (meaning liberate us) to the son of David! Instead of the community hierarchy being pleased they became indignant, Matthew 21:15.

Nothing has changed to this day. If it had, everything would be very different. Christianity for the most part in America is, and always has been about capitalistic profits and oppression of ordinary people. The Christ, whose life we commemorate, paraded a different commemoration one of spiritual and economic liberation from the power brokers.

That was just one event in a day most likely filled with other confrontations with the societies hierarchy. But if, it was the only event recorded for us on that day. Perhaps it was because it filled His entire day. It was a full days work. Condemning greed, and self serving interest is always a hard days work.

What are we to make of these contradiction between Jesus and the societies hierarchy? The short answer is that the Christ of the gospels had nothing in common with the societies hierarchy. They were self serving their own interest, for the sake of power, and influence in the time of Jesus. It has not changed in our twenty first century.

The Christ we saw in Matthew was a man capable of anger. Willing to act upon that anger. Angry because money was more important than the practical needs of the people.

The function of modern day Christendom should be two fold. First, we should be humble change makers, and out of necessity destroy the power structures that denies the people their every day substances.

Not meaning welfare dependency, but rather a fair market place for people, who know the meaning of Genesis 3:19, your substance results from your labor and sweat. Meaning a livable wage pegged to inflation. So that when prices rise, so do wages.

The government, and the nations corporate conglomerates have fought such notions forcefully and successfully. The body of Christ should labor in like manner to reverse the evil they have inflicted upon working people.

But a great problem exists, because many churches today would join the government, and corporate America in opposing such fairness. Putting them among those whom Jesus declared to be householders with the den of thieves, whom Jesus chased away.

Resulting in the few, who know the purpose of Christendom to retreat in order to be regenerated spiritually for tomorrows battles. The Christ message is change yourself and then change your world – neither is simple.

7 days that changed the world

It is not very often that a person graces this world with their presences. Then, 2000 years later His presences here is still memorialized. And memorialized, for a full week with our memorizing of Jesus completely altering community life.

With public schools being closed. Churches conducting nightly pilgrimages. By high lighting the events of Holy Week leading up to Resurrection Sunday.

There was a time in America that on the day His execution, businesses closed from 12-3, some stayed closed. The nation had blue laws then, with businesses being closed on Sunday the Lord’s day. Except for area restaurants.

America was a far different country then. A Christ honoring, and a God fearing people. Proud to recite the Lord’s prayer through out the public arena. Pledging allegiance to the flag, as an honor and not a duty. With a the nation being rewarded with prosperity and military superiority by that mysterious hand of the Almighty. Earning America global respect and fear.

That was yesterday, today it’s very different, and all to the shame of the church. The church will have to answer for its treachery. Because, of the nations tumble from greatness, to mediocrity, then to nothingness which was, and is, the fault of the church.

The Christ being paraded across America today is not the Jesus of those distant yesterdays nor of the New Testament. The tributes being paid to Him this entire week distorts His greatness and His mission. Because to associate Jesus with entrepreneurialism as a mechanism for profits over a thing called Easter, is pure blasphemy. With blasphemy being behaviors by which people or nations think that they can replace God’s edicts with their own.

There are many ways for a people to curse God today and thus die because they have committed the sin of blasphemy. And, it’s suggested that the world chaos manifesting itself in numerous ways today. And within the United States is occurring because the world, and the United States insists upon committing the sin of blasphemy against Jesus.

Scriptures teach that the United States was destined through the sons of Joseph to represent the purpose and mission of God upon this earth. As history moves forward, America falls further away from that cause and mission.

A prime example is the legalization of same sex marriages. And complete acceptance of the LGBTQ communities agenda. Which is blasphemy according to our scriptures, as recorded in Leviticus 20:13. Where we find this law from God, “If a man lies with a male, as he lies with a woman, both have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.”

That was a practice under the Mosaic law. But not, a sanctioned behavior during Christendoms existence. Vengeance belongs to God Almighty.

However the same truth is found in, Romans 1:24-28, but the remedy is different. It was penned by the Apostle Paul, the greatest churchman to have ever lived or will live.

During his lifetime he experienced much opposition from the original disciples of Jesus. Despite the resurrection of Jesus, they continued to observe the Jewish rituals of Judaism. Paul persevered preaching Christ crucified and resurrected. They did not. We owe the commemoration of resurrection Sunday to historic battles Paul fought.

Because the church has allowed the government to sanction homosexuality as acceptable behaviors. This great nation is being put to death, and their blood is falling upon all of us and for generations to come. Until the church, God’s instrument rises up to end such blasphemy against our God. If you want to know what marriage is all about examine the following scriptures, Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6 and Ephesians 5:31.

Jesus Christ, was the worlds greatest and most effective revolutionary. He challenged the religious and political authorities of His time and condemned them. To save America, so should the body of Christ, His church. Instead today, Jesus is presented as one with the state. The two are not compatible and have nothing in common! So, read upcoming discussions and get a glimpse of a very different Jesus.

The day prior to entering Jerusalem. Which was the day before Palm Sunday, named after the occurrence recorded, John 12:12-13. The people took branches of palm trees, and went to meet Jesus because they had heard He was on His way to Jerusalem. So they cried expressions of suffering, saying, “Hosanna,” meaning liberate us while carrying and waving their palm branches.

They wanted a spiritual revolution! They got theirs and we need ours. America will only be changed through a spiritual revolution. A revolution announcing that mortal people can not succeed without honoring the Man of the season, Jesus Christ.

Jesus went to Bethany which was a short distance to the East of the city. He went there to have dinner with close friends. He learned that His friend Lazarus was sick and later died.

Jesus did not pay much attention to the news of his death. He dined with the sisters of Lazarus, Martha and Mary. Both were close confidants of Jesus, with Mary being very special.

Perhaps His wife according to the Gnostic gospels. It was Mary from the Gnostic gospels kept the men together, and gave them purpose after the murder of Jesus. And of course the male dominated church has always minimized the spiritual gifts of woman. Adhering only to the writings of the King James Bible put together by mortal men.

But John, one of the twelve, and  a close confidant of Jesus penned these word for his and our time. Let me O! Lord associate with gallant women and the world will be changed. (cp. John 21:25).

With Lazarus now dead four days. Both Martha, and Mary were very upset because they thought, if Jesus had arrived sooner Lazarus would not have died. Jesus accompanies the women to the grave sight. There He weeps! The stone was removed from the grave, and Jesus commanded, “Lazarus come forth!” He that was dead came forth. Jesus gave instructions directing that the grave clothes be removed. This account is described in John chapter eleven.

There is something peculiar about Christianity. Many people reject the message and mission of Jesus, unless they can associate miracles with his teachings. It apparently was that way during His lifetime. Because it was reported that many people believed in Jesus, because Jesus said, “Lazarus come forth.” And he, that was dead came forth. With many having seen the miracle He preformed, now believed, John 11:43-45.

But it had a secondary effect, the religious authorities feared that the Romans would come, and prohibit their clerical duties, and maybe destroying Jerusalem because of Jesus, verse 48, John eleven. So they decided that Jesus must be murdered, verse 53, John eleven.

The miracle of Lazarus being dead four days, John 11:39, and returning to life, John 11: 43-44, does not occur today. But there are medical similarities occurring  before our eyes today. They stand as evidence traceable to the abilities of Jesus.

Causing modern society to recognize that bringing the dead back to life is a miracles in itself. Will the medical community reach the thresh hold reached by Jesus?

How likely is it they’ll be able to return life to the deceased dead 96 hours? If it should occur, it’s a signal from Jesus. Life, and death is a process of Divine Providence. Granting mortals such gifts is beyond human comprehension. Allowed no doubt, as a means that humanity would give humble reverence to Jesus Christ. The source of all human achievements. Giving undeniable credibility to Biblical accomplishments during the life of Christ.

We’ll see greater hate for the Jews. And that hate will be focused on Jerusalem. Significant armies, of the world community will attack Jerusalem. Maybe led by the once again revived Roman Empire, a future ten state empire of our modern day European Union states. Perhaps led by an Assyrian king, from Germany. Done in conjunction with the Muslim Arab world. And an unlikely federation of nations from Russia, China and Iran. Mission obliterate the Jews as a people, and the state of Israel from the face of the world.

The Christian West once a powerful federation of states in itself will have disintegrated into the rubbish of nothingness. Perhaps by Daesh, the unstoppable armies of Muhammad for the glory of Allah. The United States will have been obliterated. Russian hacking into our electronic systems to influence U.S. elections turns out be real.

That perhaps represented  their experimental probing to eventually disable our electronic communications systems of operation and communications. Using for the first time drone driven submarines to launch nuclear weapons at targeted targets. Making the Japanese attack upon Pearl Harbor on, 07 December 1942, look like child’s play.

Meanwhile, Daesh is here emerging from their many, Trojan Horses, better known as mosques. Wiping out key infrastructures at will. Hunting down, and beheading members of the U.S. Congress. The president, and his cabinet has been beheaded in public. Along with all Supreme Court justices. The U.S. citizenry will have been so completely terrorized that there isn’t any will to resist.

Here is why Israel will again experience even greater horrific times. The high priest, Caiaphas said to his fellow priests. “You know nothing at all,” John 11:49. In the same chapter he said, “Consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, so that the whole nation doesn’t perish,” verse fifty.

Israel still rejects the Messianic message of Jesus. The consequences of that rejection may well spill over onto the world scene. Resulting in some very volatile times for the world community. And, it’s playing out on the world scene today. Meaning kill Israel! As it would be more expedient for one nation to die, so that the whole world does not perish.

In John 11:25-26, just prior to returning life to Lazarus Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he though they may die, they shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

That is the Palm Sunday message and the message of Holy Week, which should be the most celebrated week of the year for the family of Christ.

Hopefully, biblical road signs matched with secular events will serve as significant miracles causing many to believe in the life, death and resurrection of Christ.

The more things change the more they remain the same. In Jesus’ day the religious leaders feared the loss of power and influence. As opposed to serving the needs of the people. Which is the way of many, if not most of our religious leaders today. Always snuggling up to the political hierarchy for the sake of power and influence.

Think what an impact the church could have if it demanded living wages for workers. Restructuring our tax system to benefit employees and not CEO’s and their corporate conglomerates.

Or, real universal health care with the federal government being the single payer. Providing a health care plan for every American beyond ObamaCare. Also taking advantage of what science has to offer from stem cell research.

That is what the life of Jesus was about. Serving the needs and interest of ordinary people. And supported by the social Epistle of James, in particular, James 2:14-26. Far cry from the interest of most modern day churches. That is exactly why the High Priests decided Jesus would have to die. Up setting the apple cart is seldom a healthy thing to do, but it is the Christian thing to do.

That’s exactly what Christendoms Holy Week should be about. Celebrating the ways of our liberator, Hosanna in the highest. With God being great, so we can be great as His body of believers.

We need to condemn the many practices of blasphemy unfolding before His church today. And crusade, for the social needs of His people. That is as much apart of Holy Week, as any segment of our Christ journey to His execution. If done boldly with determination, it could serve as Christendoms death march, as well. Read the following scriptures starting with 2 Timothy 3:12-13.

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecutions. But evil men will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. And, John 15:18-20, “If the world hates you, know it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”

Remember the word that I said to you, “A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also,” John 15:20.

In Matthew 24:9, Jesus said, a time will come, when they will really make life hard for Christians. Christians will be hated and killed wherever they are found. Because the Christ teachings are being taught, and fought over for His names sake.

Christ was a militant for God, are you? Think of militancy in terms of spirituality. More about that later, as the journey continues. In the meantime, small cells should be formed and made combat ready. Being violent, nonviolently! Pay attention to other discussions during this holy season for insights.

Not one of us? Join the Christ family by following the prompts found in Romans 10:9-10. Then notice verses 11-13, all of which creates the universality so many seek. And if our paths don’t cross in this world they will in the next.

Be a spoiler like the Galilean

Stretching across eons of time and begging today for recognition. Arrives these heralded words. “Tell the daughter of Zion! Behold your King is coming to you, humble, and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.” (cp Matthew 21:5).

Whose destination would be the triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Resulting in freedom from the misery of oppressive bondage, and exploitation from social intercourse between people and their nation states. The building of a new world for the glory of God with all of its peripheries of institutions.

But before that could occur, the God man, would have to come to be activated within everyone. The very presence of God would dwell in His creation.

For that to occur, people would have to respond to His sacrifice of Himself for the remission of sin. Offered to Jew, and Gentile alike, which was the finale of a 33 year journey. Which started, with His historical ride upon a humble animal into Jerusalem.

Secondary, but important to His sole purpose was deliverance from social and economic injustices. Which need no elaboration because people are being crippled from those injustices.

Then this is the eternal sacred message that should be heralded today. With people today following the scriptural example of the multitudes, who preceded Jesus into Jerusalem. The people cried out saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest.” (cp.Matthew 21:9).

With Hosanna meaning, liberate us. Have you noticed that there is a spirit of rebellion sweeping across the nation. People are expressing their tiredness with the ‘tired and failed.’ Whether it’s politics, pandemic, commerce or the way ones neighbors behave.

Here is something a little personal. I’m older than most. So I go back to a time, when my father made business contracts through handshakes. Here is what governed his contracts. “You shall not cheat your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired person, shall not remain with you all night until morning.” (cp. Leviticus 19:13).

Because it was a matter of character, and personal integrity. Character, and integrity worked both ways. The consumer paid up front, knowing that the contractor prided his workmanship making it beneath him to do anything less than what was honorable.

Society needs to hear that two fold proclamation of Hosanna. Changed lives through Jesus and liberation from our oppressors. Because through Christ comes character. and thus integrity. Making it impossible to do anything that is beneath what is honorable.

There are many voices through out America today. Who want Christians to be shackled to the chains of governance which contrary to our scriptures.

Therefore, we the living personage of the God force, need to rebel. Breaking those burdensome chains that are anti-Christian. No matter what part of the American community they represent.

We are about to enter the holiest week of the Christian calendar. It’s about the transition of the Mosaic law into the age of grace. Grace is all about humanities redemption and social responsibility. Who will in this 21st century return America to the place where she came from. A Christ centered nation, as seen from the perspective of Matthew 5:15. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill which cannot be hidden.”

So for you spoilers out there like the Galilean get together with the like minded, and see what spoiling can be done for Jesus and country.

We are the awesome creation of our Creator. Capable of doing the unimaginable because God is greater than His creation.

Souldier up and and get going! Because, “If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them. You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight.” (cp. Leviticus 26:3,7-8)

Three examples: No politics as usual! Combat peacefully the agenda of the LGBTQ community. Understand Islam for it really represents which is global obedience to Allah and his prophet Muhammad. All three are enemies of Christianity and thus the enemies of America. The daughter of Zion is America!

histories curse

We live in a broken world fashioned after a cursed idiom identified by one of histories great historians, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil, who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Isaiah. (cp. Isaiah 5:20).

The aforementioned are euphemisms for the reversal of what our Creator originally preferred for His creation. After centuries dark history, God introduced Jesus into our sphere of existence. Allowing for light and sweetness to become every ones aesthetic experience.

Discover that aesthetic experience starting tomorrow, Palm Sunday, “Liberate us Jesus!” Through Good Friday, “It is finished!” To Resurrection Sunday, “It is accomplished!”

During the week one discussion builds upon another for a different society that needs all of us. Readers are encouraged to see themselves, as ones in need, who then become societies change makers.

During some days more than one discussion will be posted. Showing a Christ who loved you and me. And suffered a brutal murder for this reason, “Insomuch then, as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is the devil.” cp. Hebrews 2:14).

what does it mean 2 b evil

“Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing worth knowing can be taught,” Oscar Wilde.

Here are some things of the greatest of value, that can’t be learned or taught. Try as one may, give it ones best effort all will fail. That is because they can only be experienced. And after they have been experienced, it’s a supernatural knowing, confirming it can’t be taught. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.” (cp. Hebrews 11:1).

Creating this awareness that requires some excruciating patience on the way to meaningful spirituality. Meaningful spirituality is the ultimate learning knowing process.

“Trust in the LORD and do good. Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him.” (cp, Psalms 37:3-7a).

Concerning the following scriptures avoid associating evildoers, as Mafia figures. Evildoers happen to be those, who deny God as Creator, and Sustainer, of all that is, or will be. Who unanimously, one way or another, see God’s good as evil, and their evil as good. Examples: Marriage is between a man and a woman. (cp, Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6 and Ephesians 5:31). It’s the greatest gift of mercy God has ever bestowed upon humanity.

I should know because I longed for my first kill as a gangster. Rescued by Jesus, 05 Feb 1954, 1800 hrs.

You shall not murder, Exodus 20:13. Think in terms of aborting babies. Murders include doctors, and their medical staff, hospital non-medical personal, and of course Moms and Dads, and all who stood by the abortion recipients. The willful, and intentional murder of babies, may well be the most egregious offence against God Almighty!

Nevertheless, God is ever merciful. Sincere repentance of ones sins will wipe the slant not just clean, but pure. For it is recorded, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” (cp. Ephesians 1:7).

Here is their fate. “Do not fret because of evildoers, nor envious of the workers of iniquity, for they shall soon be cut down like grass, and wither as the green herb.” (cp. Psalms 37:1-2).

The difference maker for knowing that what is worth knowing, can not taught, is as follows, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for those who come to God must believe that He is, and that He is the rewarder  of all those who diligently seek Him.” (cp, Hebrews 11:6).

the unusual potential

“What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters to what lies within us,” Ralph Waldo Emerson.

What is that matter that lies within us? Fortunate are you, if you are aware of this matter. Because, it’s far from being an universal experience.

“But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance, v. 25.

Because the Spirit helps with our weaknesses, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with expressions that cannot be understood, v. 26.

Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (cp. Romans 8:25-27).

And it’s God’s Spirit within us that makes life’s trivialities past, present or future insignificant.

But His Spirit is dormant, until one becomes a member of His family. It’s done by following the prompts found in Romans 10:9-10. Then notice verses 11-13, all of which creates the universality so many seek.

gratitude a jewel in itself

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes your way, and give thanks continuously! And above all things, those who have contributed to your successes. Nevertheless, you should include all things in your gratitude,” Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Many have discovered that this blue print contributed greatly to their successes because it was a power beyond themselves that resulted in states of gratitude.

It is as follows: “Blessed are the people who walk not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the paths of sinners, nor sits in the seats of the scornful; but their delights are in the ways of the LORD, and in His ways they meditate day and night.”

“They shall be like trees planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruits in its season, whose leaf shall not wither, and whatsoever they do shall prosper.” (cp. Psalms 1:1-3).

It’s a misnomer to think that any of the aforementioned has anything to do with world acclaim, although for some that might be the case. But for most it’s about the honorable practical walk in Christ Jesus. That brings about that sense of blessed accomplishments and thus gratitude. It’s the result of ones separation from the dominance of societal influences.

things r what they should not b

“How can anyone be silly enough to think themselves better than other people, because their clothes are made of finer woolen threads then theirs. After all those fine clothes were once worn by a sheep, and it never turned it into anything better than a sheep,” Thomas More.

Dear Mr. Moore, so very true of sheep and other creatures provided for human survival and comfort.

But we as species are very different because of Genesis 1:27, which boldly declares, “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them.

Then God blessed them, and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it, have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every thing that moves upon the earth.”

And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of the earth, every tree whose fruit yields seed, to you, it shall be food.”

Also to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth. In which there is life, I have given every green herb for food and it was so! (cp. Genesis 1:27-30).

All that was done in six days. What we don’t know, is the time frame between the sixth day and the seventh, when God completed His creative majesty.

We can only assume that it many ways it resembled God’s creation of a new heaven and earth as recorded in Revelation 21:1-4, which reads, Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for first heaven, and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no sea.

Then I John, “Saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” (cp. Revelation 21:1-2). Suggestive of gaiety of unimaginable festivities just for us!

Sometimes, this writer wonders will humanity screw things up yet another time? Because scriptures teach God is the originator of equality and free speech.

We know of two previous screw ups. The first such occurrence took place, when His anointed Cherub decide that to replace his Creator with himself. (cp.Ezekiel 28:14-19).

The second took place, when Adam and Eve disobeyed their Creator. (cp. Genesis 3:1-24).

That’s what More’s modest diatribe is all about. In our fallen state like that anointed Cherub and Adam and Eve. Everyone is susceptible to attitudes and behavioral biases that are not Christ honoring.

To be a Christian does not free us from offensive attitudes or behaviors. That’s because in this world, our old nature, will war with our new nature that we have through Christ Jesus.

It’s a serious misnomer to think that anyone as Christians is free from offensive attitudes or behaviors. As we mature in Christ, we must apply scriptures to identify both offensive attitudes, then the offensive behaviors will be eradicated.

Here are some scriptures that work for me, and if for me, they’ll work for you. Pray those scriptures and apply them in relationship to the aforementioned. And ask yourself, is it possible to be that fragrance, while harboring hurtful attitudes manifested through behaviors?

Now thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ, among everyone. To some we are the aroma of death, and to the other aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

But we are not, as so many peddling the word of God, (who at the same time harbor hurtful attitudes manifested through behaviors) instead we speak with purity in the sight of God in Christ. (cp. 2 Corinthians 2:14-17).

confidence equals the unexpected

“I have learned this, at least by my experiment, that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, they will meet with success unexpected,” Henry David Thoreau, Walden or Life in the Woods.

In the woods, or elsewhere, this also will work, if one, is one of us. That is, if one is a member of our Christ family. Notice, member of our Christ family, and not membership in a thing called church. Big difference!

A thoughtful contemplation of good for the Job’s, Thoreau’s, you and me. “We who are born of a woman are of a few days, and full of trouble. We come forth like a flower and we fade away! Fleeing like a shadow that does not continue.

Do You open Your eyes on such ones? Or is judgment from Yourself the answer? Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean thing? No one! ”

Since our days are determined, the number of our months are with You. You have appointed our limits and we will not exceed them. Look away that we may rest till like a hired hand we finish our days.” (cp, Job 14:1-6).

Therefore! “Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (cp. Psalms 90:12). That heart of wisdom in this 21st century is all about the following. “Insomuch then as the children have partaken in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is the devil.” (cp. Hebrews 2:14).

Then it’s a call to service like histories many Thoreau’s, that we might confidently succeed in our dreams. And will meet a success unexpected. Best accomplished as follows, “Therefore, if anyone be in Christ, they are new creations, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new, v. 17.

But all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself, through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation, v. 18.

Namely that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, by not computing to them their sins, and having committed to us the ministry of reconciliation, v. 19.

For in Him, who knew no sin, He made to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God, v:21. (cp 2 Corinthians 5:17-19;21).

We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were pleading through by us, we begFor He has made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (cp. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21).

payday

A personalized discussion,  based upon perhaps the most famous scriptures, known collectively by our global community, the 23rd Psalms. Thought to have been a prayer David prayed. It can also be prayed by anyone.

What is in parenthesis represents the scriptural text. My commentary follows.

(The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want). A shepherd has the best interest of his sheep as his foremost concern. Christ as our Shepherd has our interests as His foremost concern. It may not always seem that way, but perseverance will declare it to be so. However, David was a warrior and King of Israel. So that suggests it’s a petition in the service of others and not self.

(He makes me to lie down in the green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters). Picturesque of ones tranquility when in the service of their Shepherd.

(He restores my soul, He leads me in the path of righteousness for His names sake). Our soul, our conscience primed to do the right behavior for His glory and not for our self satisfaction.

(Yea, though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me, your rod and staff comfort me). Safety, and security when in His service. No matter what the outcome. Clearly, in some circumstances it could be death. There should never be any reason to fear because it’s His desires working through us for its ultimate climax. Greater is He, who is within us than those out side of us. It is what makes the outcome acceptable no matter how it concludes, That’s what makes it  glorious.

(You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil my cup runs over). What one does in His service is seldom kept secret. Therefore, the table is an instrument of support, and stability, which is symbolic of us, His warriors. Thus the anointing by oil that overflows is picturesque of the Holy Spirit. Our enabler in the defeat of our enemies. The process can be mysterious, because sometimes one picks up a cause, that another didn’t complete. And of course, it also works in a converse way. Eventually, the multiple causes of Christ prevail)!

(Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever). Let not your heart be troubled. In My Father’s house there are many mansions. I go and prepare a place for you, and I will come again and receive you to Myself that where I am, there you will be also, John 14:1-3.

Not one of us! Join our Christ family by following the prompts found in Romans 10:9-10. Then note verses 11-13, all of which creates the universality so many desire. And if our paths don’t cross in this world, they will in the next.

love a very different thing

“Whoever loves becomes humble. Those who love, so to speak, have pawned a part of their narcissism. Meaning self love that rises superior to everyone else,” Sigmund Freud.

Freudian psychoanalysis may be helpful, but being able to deeply love, without any self expectations, well that’s done through the newness of life that’s imparted to us through Jesus Christ.

When one experiences the newness of life in Christ, we take upon ourselves as a gift, His persona. It goes very much like this, “Do you not know that as many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death.”

Therefore, we were buried with Him through  baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in the newness of life.” (cp. Romans 6:3-4).

God Himself lives within the believer which allows believers to differentiate between the following. “What! ‘Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God! (cp. 1 Corinthians 6:19), It is a level above Freudian psychoanalysis that can’t  match the Spirit filled believer because it’s superficial.

“Though I speak with the languages of men and angels, but have not love, I have become like sounding brass or a clanging cymbal, v. 1.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge, and though I have faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing, v. 2.

And if I away all my goods to feed the poor, and though I have all faith, so that I can remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing, v. 3.

Love suffers long and is kind,  love does not envy, love does not brag, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity, but  rejoices in the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, believes all things, endures all things, v, 4-7, 1 Corinthians chapter 13.

The perfect summation between psychoanalytical love and Christ imparted love.

It all starts with being a part of our Christ family. So if you are not one of us, join our family, by following the prompts found in Romans 10:9-10. Then note verses 8-11, all of which creates the universality so many seek. And if our paths don’t cross in this world, they will in the next.

sigmund freud

“Religion is a system of wishful illusions together with a disavowal of reality, such as we find nowhere else but in a state of hallucinatory confusion. Religion’s eleventh commandment is, ‘Thou shalt not question,'” Sigmund Freud, The Future of Illusions.

Two Biblical verses destroys Freud’s entire thesis concerning illusions. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness, that the people of God may be thorough equipped for every good work.” (cp. 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

All of us are born alienated from God and a series of premises must be accepted, or one will forever be trapped in Freud’s pitiful world of illusions. Where he himself spent his life time. No doubt, He’s singing a different tune now! Being very much alive in Hades. At least He’s not lonely, as he has lots of company. No pun intended. Note Luke 16:19-31.

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and death spread to all people because all have sinned.” (cp. Romans 5:12).

If one takes the time to become familiar with the Genesis account of creation, every one, who does so will conclude that God never intended Adam to die. That’s why we have the aforementioned verse from Romans.

“For if by one man’s (Adam) offense death reigned through one, much more those who receive abundance of grace, and the gift of righteous will reign in life through the One Jesus Christ.” (cp Romans 5:17).

“For as by one man’s disobedience (Adam) many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience (Jesus Christ) many will be made righteous. (cp. Romans 5:19).

“So that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 5:21).

No matter the toils of this life there is a future where toils will be non- existent. See Revelation 21:1-5, “Now I saw a new heaven and new earth, for the first heaven and first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea,” v.1.

“Then I John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband,” v.2.

“And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold the tabernacle of God is with humanity, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God,'” v.3.

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There  shall be no more pain, for the former things will pass away!” v.4.

“Then He who sat on the throne, said, ‘Behold, I will make all things new,'” v.5.

Don’t miss it because it’ll be a celebration like no other. Note verse 2, this new heaven is pictured as a bride adorned for her husband.

The scriptures provide a great comfort as a inner source of peace and contentment. That completely escapes the Freud’s of this dying earth. Swallowing up its inhabitants in misery one way or another.

Escape it! If not one of us, join our Christ family. By following the prompts found in Romans 10:9-10. The note verses 11-13, all of which creates the universality so many seek. And if our paths don’t cross in this world, they will in the next. And together, we will enjoy our God’s festive celebration, as His honored guests.

“Religion is and attempt to get control over the sensory world, in which we are placed, by means of a wish filled world, which we have developed inside us as a result of biological and psychological necessities.

But, it cannot achieve its end, because its doctrines carry with them the stamp of the times in which they originate, the ignorant childhood days of the human race. Its consultations deserve no trust! Experience teaches that the world is not a nursery.

Biblical commands to which religion seeks to lend its weight, requires some other foundation instead. For human society cannot do without them, and it is dangerous to link up obedience with religious belief.

All of the above amounts to another Freud tirade to discredit what the world needs most, which is a foundation well rooted in not religious but Christ doctrines anchored teachings. There’s a humongous difference!

As best as this writer can determine, Freud associated the Christian teachings only through the lens of the Mosaic law as found in the biblical scriptures of Genesis through Deuteronomy.

Which of course makes Freudian psychotherapy the villain of society. Because during his lifetime reaching us today, the Mosaic law is history, and the age of grace is standard bearer for individual and overall societal guidance.

During this age of grace, also referred to as the church age study should be directed fourteen books of the Bible. They were all written by the Apostle Paul. Starting with, The Acts of the Church through to Philemon. And Hebrews which may have been written, by Paul, but we aren’t certain. Hebrews is interesting because it discusses both the church age interests, as well as a review Old Testament doctrines.

That doesn’t mean that the rest of the Bible should be discarded. Much can be learned by studying them, and they are of great value, when it comes to understanding global history.

In Addition, the Old Testament provides lots of previous advice. Like the following, “They who are slow to anger are better than the mighty, and they who rule their spirit than he who takes a city.” (cp. Proverbs 16:32). It takes more than just reading such scriptures. Combine ones reading with prayer. Learn to pray the scriptures and make an effort to overcome what ever one is seeking to overcome.

Here are some scriptures this writer prays. “Bless the Lord O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His Holy name! Bless the Lord O my soul, and forget not all of His benefits. Who has forgiven all my sins. Who has healed all my spiritual diseases, who has redeemed my life from destruction, who crowns me with living kindness and tender mercies, who satisfies my mouth with good things, so that my youth is renewed like that of the eagle.” (cp. Psalms 103:1-5). Tip: Memorize scriptures and personalize them.

However, Paul’s discussions are exactly what we, as individuals, need in order to find, and experience Christ pleasing lives during this current age. Which will also end, and another age will be ushered in.

When dealing with tirades from the worlds Freud’s, here’s what Paul said about them. “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us, who are  saved, it is the power of God.” For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring down the understanding of the prudent.” (cp. 1 Corinthians 1:18-19).

“But the natural person does not receive the things of the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to them; nor can they known them, because they do not have spiritual insight. (cp, 1 Corinthians 2:14).

diapers to full battle gear

“Religious doctrines are all illusions! They do not admit to proof, and no one can be compelled to consider them as true, or to believe in them,” Sigmund Freud.

There isn’t any way to know how many lives, Sigmund Freud, screwed up by uttering such absurdities. All though, if examined by only human rationality they may make sense. But they fail miserably, when compared with personal human experience.

Behold! Said Jesus, “I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him/her and dine with him/her, and him/her with Me. (cp, Revelation 3:20).

When it happens, you’ll know it. It’s not a human mental physical literal experience. Rather, it’s a supernatural spiritual experience, absent all human cognitive rationality.

This writer can only speak for himself. I had no relationship with any church, and was in a most undesirable environment. Reading a book written by the renowned evangelist, Billy Graham. While on my knees compelled to confess my sins, and accept Christ as my Savior Redeemer.

Suddenly, I noticed a bright glowing light in a very darkened area to my right. For some reason it didn’t concern or frighten me. Maybe because, I was accustomed to unusual environments.

I managed to get some sleep, and upon awakening, I knew that something had occurred because I sensed that I was a very different person.

Having no church relationship and without a Bible. It took a long time for me to come to grips with what happened to me. Eventually, I got a Bible and after a long period of time searching the scriptures for an explanation as to what happened to me. I found it 2 Corinthians 5:17, which reads,” Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he/she is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new.”

Bingo! Instantly, I understood what had occurred in a foreign place on a cold February night. I raise my voice constantly in praise to Him for His transforming redeeming power.

That experience occurred 67 years ago. Since then it’s been a continual spiritual growth. Also since then, the following verses have been my battle cry, “To him who overcomes, I will grant to sit with me on My throne, as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (cp. Revelation 3:21-22).

pathways with twists and turns

“In truth, there was only one Christian, and He died on the cross, Friedrich  Nietzche.

Sometimes great thinkers like Nietzche, when they expose their thoughts, demonstrate how little they know.

Jesus was not a Christian, He was a Jew! And as a Jew, He came to fulfill God’s promises made to Jewish hierarchy, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

While He lived, Jesus was extremely controversial and eventually the Jews yelled, “Crucify Him, Crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.” The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God.” (cp, John 19:6-7).

And with His death, resurrection and ascension, the course of history had been forever changed.

And the Jewish, Gentile world were made the benefactors. Christianity can’t be successfully intellectualized, which most likely was Nietzche’s dilemma. It can only be experienced. For all of us fortunate enough to have been His benefactors. Here is a necklace of precious jewels while earth bound and once heaven bound.

Do you not know that as many of us where baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we should walk in the newness of life.

For if we have been united in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.

Knowing this that our old self was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.

For they, who have died are freed from sin.

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him.

Knowing that Christ having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.

For the death He died, He died to sin once for all, but the life He now lives, He lives to God. (cp. Romans 6:3-10).

Now I saw a new heaven, and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

Then I John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold the tabernacle of God is with His people, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, their shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” (cp, Revelation 21:1-5).

dying what it means

“The boundaries which divide life from death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where one ends, and where the other begins.” Edgar Allen Poe, The Premature Burial.

Many have struggled with Poe’s etched predicament. More so as life evolves, and their is a recognition that ones death draws more nigh with each passing day.

And in the end we’ll discover that death isn’t shadowy or vague. Contrary to Poe’s assertion we know where one ends and where the other begins.

So here are some Biblical sketches concerning both.

First life and its purpose: Then the word of the LORD came to me (Jeremiah). “Behold I formed you in the womb, and I knew you before you were born. I sanctified you, I ordained you a prophet to the nations. (cp. Jeremiah 1:5).

Then said I, “Ah, Lord God! Behold I can not speak, for I am a youth.” But the LORD said to me, “Do not say I am a youth, for you shall go to all, to whom I send you. And whatsoever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the LORD. (cp. Jeremiah 1:6-8).

Then the Lord put forth His hand, and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me. “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth, See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and throw down, to build up and to plant.” (cp. Jeremiah 1:9-10).

Exegesis: That was Jeremiah’s experience before there was a Bible. Which is the cumulative voice of God for us today.

Despite that there are some similarities for us today. God knew us in our mother’s womb before we were born. Each of us were sanctified before birth meaning set apart for a specific purpose. It was unequivocally an ordination meaning a specific purpose for ones life.

Suggestion: It’s wrapped in your combined passions. It’s going to be as close as we’ll get to what Jeremiah experienced.

Be very skeptical of those who proclaim that they have heard the literal voice of God. Often it’s said for devious reasons. People are gullible, and they want to be seen as unique by the listener. So that they can get people to give them money.

God speaks to us today only through His word. His word is His voice and Spirit. Nevertheless here are some helpful scriptures for understanding ones sanctification and ordination.

“If we hope for what we do not see we wait for it with perseverance.” “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for they who come to God must believe that He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (cp. Romans 8:25; Hebrews 11:1;6).

Death: “Just as through one person (Adam) sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all people, because all sinned. (cp. Romans 5:12). “So that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (cp. Romans 5:21).

Not one of us? Join our Christ family through the prompts found in Romans 10:9-10. Then notice verses 11-13. All of which creates the universality so many seek. And if our paths don’t cross in this world, they will in the next. Blessings!

Death is a complex process. At death the body (dust) returns to the earth as it was. And the spirit (our God connection) called the silver cord or the golden bowl returns to God who gave it. (cp. Ecclesiastes 12:6-7).

And our soul (every soul of every person our consciousness is dispatched to Hades, in comfort or discomfort. A detailed explanation can be found in Luke 16:19-31.

a glimpse of the unusual not unusual

“And being so young, and dipped in folly, I fell in love with melancholy. So than, it is by no means an irrational fancy that in a future existence, we shall look upon what we think our present existence as a dream,” Edgar Allan Poe.

What was Edgar contemplating with such expressions? We know he had an interest in the unusual. For many it starts at a very young age. And there is a loneliness that creates an melancholy because it’s often a lonely road.

So perhaps this is some of what he concluded about human existence in the here and hereafter.

Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we all shall be changed. In a moment in a twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we all shall be changed, v.51-52.

For this corruptible, must put on immortality, and the mortal must put on immortality, v. 53.

So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed in  victory (Isaiah 25:8), v. 54.

“O death where is your sting? O Hades where is your victory?” v. 55.

The sting of death is sin, and strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, v 56, 57. (cp. 1 Corinthians 15: 51-57).

walks of various kinds

Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild the house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on. You knew that those jobs needed doing, and so you are not surprised.

But presently, He starts redesigning  the house in a way that hurts abominably and does not make any sense. What exactly is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought about throwing out. He is creating a new wing here, putting an extra floor there. Running up towers here and there along with several courtyards.

You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage. But He is building a palace. And He intends to come, and live in it Himself, C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity.

That’s always the way it is after one gets acquainted with what happened, when one encounters His life changing powers. The Apostle Paul put it this way, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they have become new creations. The old things have passed away. Behold! All things have become new.” (cp, 2 Corinthians 5:17).

And as time passes on, and one looks back, and remembers the old. The change put simply, remarkable! Like, “What do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own. For you were bought with a price, therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (cp, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Wow! Digest that because it’s awesome.

The following seems mean, but it isn’t, it’s just very practical. Interwoven is a new reality that brings an unique compassion for all people outside of the influence of God’s love and compassion. It’s about a self imposed caveat which brings with it a special aroma which will be shared.

“Don’t be unequally associated with unbelievers, for what fellowship does righteousness have with unrighteousness? Or what association does light have with darkness?

What agreement does the temple of God have with (nothingness) Belial? For you are the temple of the living God. Even as God said, “I will dwell in them, and walk with them. I will be there God, and they shall be my people.” Therefore, ‘Come out from among them and be separate,’ says the Lord. ‘Be careful with your associations, and I will be with you! And, I will be your Father, and you shall be My daughters and sons,'” says the Lord Almighty. (cp. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18).

Now that self declared caveat. “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are saved and those who are perishing.” (cp. 2 Corinthians 2:14-15).
