“You can pray until you faint, but unless you get up, and try, and do something, God is not going put it in your lap,” Fannie Lou Hamer.
Ms. Hamer was a tireless, and constant American voting rights and women’s rights activist. And, as such, she was a stalwart community leader in the overall civil rights movement.
She was an advocate of praying combined with action. As an admirer of such people, and one who shares the same the same spiritual and societal mechanisms for engagements.
The following was a prophetic announcement concerning the spirituality of Jesus’ societal methodologies during His earthly ministry. With such being the case for Jesus it certainly must be our way also. “There shall come forth a rod from the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out his roots. The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of fear of the LORD.”
“His delight is in the fear of the LORD, and shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears. But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide equity for the meek of the earth. He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, and faithfulness the belt of His waist.” (cp. Isaiah 11:1-5).
Later this was demonstrated by Christ Himself, as he humbled, and recruited the cruel prosecutor of Christians, Saul of Tarus. “As Saul journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” (cp. Acts 9:3-4).
Paul wrote, “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His son in me, that I might preach Him among the gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to confer with those who were Apostles before me, but I went Arabia and returned to again to Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him for fifteen days.” (cp. Galatians 1:15-18). It is generally assumed that Saul, who assumed the name of Paul, Acts 13:9, was personally educated by Christ Himself during those three years.
Then while in prison, Paul upon reflection penned his educational experience from what Christ taught him about Himself from the prophecy written by Isaiah and aforementioned.
Over coming the human insurmountable’s can only be done through the Spirit of God Almighty. Paul penned these immortal thoughts for world changers. Pray and seek, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give you the spirit (human consciousness) of WISDOM and REVELATION in the KNOWLEDGE of HIM. That the EYES of your UNDERSTANDING being ENLIGHTENED that you may know WHAT IS THE HOPE OF YOUR CALLING. And what are the RICHES of HIS INHERITANCE in the saints.” (cp.Ephesians 1:17-18).
(Remember that Angels rejoice over one sinner who repents, as announced by Jesus Himself, Luke 15:10) We are His inheritance through His life, death resurrection and ascension. (cp. Hebrews 2:14).
How does Christ create a similarity between Himself and us? “Through the exceeding GREATNESS of His power in us who believe, according to the working of His MIGHTY POWER which He used to raise Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.” (cp. Ephesians 1:19-20).
“Far above all principalities, powers, mightiness, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come.” (cp. Ephesians 1:21).
“And He has put all things under His control, and made Him the head over all us, who call themselves Christians. Because we are of His body, who fills all in all.” (cp. Ephesians 1:22-23).
What you have read is picturesque of what Christians are capable of accomplishing with and through Him.
It has nothing to do with no notoriety, but it may. It’s most likely about the following for most of us. And it is of great significance because progress is accomplished by one step at a time. Hardly noticed until the walk is completed. Then people say, wow! How was that accomplished? “Now thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ and through us diffuses the fragrance of Christ. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ everywhere, where change is needed both Christian and non-Christian.” (cp. 2 Corinthians 2:14-15)
