Friedrich Hegel, “Nothing great is accomplished without passion.” Hegel’s passion gave the world community the necessary apparatus for a society that saw beyond wealth for the few and poverty for the many.
Hegel’s passions are very much alive today in the United States. Through the American congress made up of Republicans, who are mostly a group of fascist, who see wealth for the few resulting in poverty for the many. Because for them, that’s the way it should.
And Democrats, who want a more equal distribution of wealth. Governed by a passion to eliminate poverty. Thank You! V.P. Kamala Harris, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and of course, Rep. AOC.
Most likely Hegel wasn’t aware that he had forerunner centuries before his lifetime, and it was Jesus the Christ.
Jesus was having a conversation with a young man, and said to him, “If you want to exceed beyond being good, go, sell what you have, and give it to the poor. And you will have treasures in heaven, and come, follow me!” (cp. Matthew 19:21).
That was asking to much for our young Christ enthusiast. Who replied, “I can’t because I am a person of great wealth.” (cp. Matthew 19:22 with exegesis).
Jesus decided to share His deepest feelings about poverty verses wealth. So He shared this with His closest revolutionaries. “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. For emphasis Jesus added this comment, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for the wealthy to enter the kingdom of God. (cp. Matthew 19:23-24 with exegesis).
So the controversy rages on through the centuries with little chance of it ever being resolved. And that is one reason of many, as to why Christendom has so little lasting appeal. They come to Christendom by the hundreds and leave by the thousands.
