“If you don’t behave, as you believe, you will end up by believing as you behave,” Fulton J. Sheen.
Most likely, Bishop Sheen, was addressing the Christian community with his remarks. A community of con artist, who use their various platforms, to promote twisted scriptural concepts for self gratification in the name of Jesus. And by so doing, they certainly behave as they believe. Which is to promote self over others, by creating the image, that they are unique vessels revealing biblical truths. Some are more persuasive than others. And from them, we have more isms than stars through out God’s heavens. Leaving growing numbers of people concluding that Christendom is a grand hoax. And, that is colossal shame!
As a student of biblical literature, I encourage people to leave organized Christendom, and form home churches. The Bible is a complex collection of biblical literature. Covering centuries of time, and written by people addressing issues of their times. For us today, the writings of the Apostle Paul are most appropriate for our times.
That is not to suggest that the rest of the Bible should be ignored. From those pages rests droves of valuable information from the then, now and future. But people need a solid foundation about the now, and the Apostle clarifies its necessity, and purpose, for twenty first century realities.
