The mice, who were at war with the weasels were always getting the worst of it. They held a meeting, and coming to a conclusion that their defeats were due to a lack of leadership. They chose some from among themselves, and appointed them to be their generals. Then in order to distinguish themselves from the rest, they made horns, and fixed them on their heads.
When they joined the battle their whole army was routed and took flight. They all got in their holes except the generals, who were unable to get in on account of their horns. They were caught and devoured!

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. (cp. Philippians 2:30.
Clergy people get sick, die, vacation, retire or move on. This Padre duly ordained is available to temporarily fill that vacancy. Perhaps teach a Sunday school class. Share in an adult Bible study group. By exploring excursions through corridors of topics usually avoided.
