Sadly, yes, again the nation will try to sort out the ‘Y’ after a shooting rampage by a gunman outside a Kansas City bar. Killing two and wounding fifteen other people. Just hours after the Chiefs in a spectacular manner found themselves headed to the Super Bowl. It took the Chiefs 50 years to get there. So they had a lot of celebrating to do, but a madman ruined their joy by replacing it with grief.
From, Revelation 13:1-2, and I (John) stood upon the sand of the sea (symbolic for among the people) … the beast which I saw was like a leopard (the biblical definition for a leopard is of a creature in waiting and is quick to kill). ‘Y’ because the sins of the people are great and getting worse. (cp. Jeremiah 5:6b). With the dragon being defined as that old serpent, the Devil and Satan. (cp. Revelation 12:9).
In those few words the Y is answered. By having humanities collective behaviors from the past, present and future sketched before us. A dotted creature with its dots providing camouflage. Making it difficult to detect, and known for its speed. Able to attack and kill while hardly being noticed. Almost like a mystery killer, who will thin out the population, making a defense impossible. Until the sting of mayhem has been accomplished.
Such mayhem is not proportional. It brings death and mayhem where it should be least expected. To the global stage where nations war against each other. It’s ugly, and hurtful no matter its manifestation upon the suspected deserving, as well as the innocent.
Our scriptures often have dual interpretations. An unique gift that God has given us in order to keep ancient expressions current. With the scriptures used during this discussion serving as metaphors of reality for today. With the beast signaling something fearful which is a metaphor for a human being. This human is a sly creature described as a leopard in waiting. Who stands among us, and suddenly attacks and kills.
Note: “A leopard shall watch over their cities. Everyone who goes out from there shall be torn in pieces. Because, there transgressions are many. Through their turning away from God. By denying His existence by multiple ways.” (cp. Jeremiah 5:6b).
For the aforementioned scenario gives us some metaphors to work with. Our beast (Revelation 13:1) is the killer who emerged killing and wounding. It’s the aftermath to Jeremiah’s declaration. The killer was the beastly leopard, or as aforementioned that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan.
We mortals have everything from increasing knowledge to seemingly ability to erase physical and mental abnormalities. Yet the trend manifests itself conversely. It’s because, the more we mortals deny His existence, the greater will be the abnormalities that afflict us.
There are worlds within our world that most are unfamiliar with, but all experience in sundry ways. A guy named John keep telling the community you can’t behave that way. Because, it angers God!
So he’d stop being so annoying to the population at large. The authorities exiled John to an isolated island. After all, the citizenry only wanted to behave in ways that they so desired. And we know that politicians cave in to prevailing moods of the population. Expressing behaviors God be damned!
So, John, penned the book of Revelation detailing the consequences of such attitudes. Here’s a thought about the matter from John. “And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth the beast.” The beast having been explained above. So this dragon and the beast have been earth side for centuries. With cunning influence to persuade, we mortals to act in ways contrary to our instincts. That’s exactly what happen to disrupt the gaiety of the Super Bowl bound Chiefs. To make the trio complete for all havoc to boil over the world community needs the False prophet. John tells us they are spirits of demons embodied in mortal bodies. So. buckle up because such mayhem is only beginning.
