A women centuries ago gave us this Christmas story. It is filled with gifts to be treasured and avoided.
Christmas can’t be understood apart from Jewish history. Because we have it written, as such, “And if you are Christ’s, then you are of Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Text: Galatians 3:29.
Most understand that Christmas has been commercialized, and serves as a season for gigantic corporate conglomerate revenues.
Christmas is really about God’s desired abundance for us in so many ways. But the Christmas season also has a tragic down side, resulting in the abundance and God’s wrath. Depending upon ones individual personal choices, or national choices made by nation states.
For Israelis, this abundance of wealth or wrath has been a roller coaster ride between the two. Christians have not fared much better over the centuries. Except for two other extra ordinary nations. Great Britain, and the United States. But things are changing, as both nations are slipping more and more towards God’s wrath. But not by default, but by deliberate choice.
Hannah shared this Christmas story with the world with these words as a woman of prayer. Perhaps Hannah didn’t understand the duality of her words, Which may also be applicable, when we pray. Gift makers for individuals, families, nation and beyond to other nations. “My heart rejoices in the LORD, my horn (strength) is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies because I rejoice in Your salvation.
Here Hannah gave the world her prophetic awareness of the our LORD Jesus Christ. She goes on to declare, “No one is holy like the LORD. There is none beside You, Nor is there any rock like our God.”
Followed by this warning, “Talk no more, so proudly; let no arrogance come from your mouth, for the LORD is the God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed.
Hannah’ s prophetic Christmas story hails these bounties upon God’s faithful. The bows of mighty men are broken. And those, who stumble are girded with strength.
She went on to counsel. Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread. And the hungry, have ceased to hunger. Even the barren have born seven, and she, who has many children has become feeble.
The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave, and brings up. The LORD makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. He raises the poor from the dust, and lifts the beggar from the ash heap. And makes them inherit the throne of glory.
The pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and He has set the world upon them. He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness.
For by strength no person shall prevail. The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; from heaven He will thunder against them. The LORD will judge the ends of the earth. He will give strength His saints and exalt horn (strength) of His anointed.” Scriptural texts: 1 Samuel 2:1-10.
Lots of history to be discovered from what lies between each expressed thought. Free treasured gifts through scheduling. Found through the Contact Us link on my home page.
Living room conversations work well, as do other forums where people can gather.
CfS is a church without walls, and therefore, without membership.
Clergy people get sick, vacation, retire or move on. This Padre duly ordained can fill that vacancy temporarily. Or perhaps a Sunday school class, or an adult study group. Examining topics of your choice. Traveling into arena’s seldom traveled.
Some readers despise organized religion but are very interested in religious topics. Like the possibility that other God’s coexist with the God of Christianity. Like Allah, the God Muslims worship. And do they war, with each other through out the heavens? If interested, scheduling can be accomplished as noted above. Locations also apply. It should also be noted that political topics can be addressed. With a degree also in political science a whole repertoire of topics can be selected. From the cradle of the traditional arena. Right through to the corridors of the political arena, where certain issues are seldom discussed.
