More than a Israeli problem

God begs the world to know, so he tapped a guy named Paul to say so. People, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.

For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

For Christ is the end of the law, for righteousness to everyone who believes.

For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.”

But the righteousness of faith speaks this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?'” Or, “Who will descend into the abyss?'”

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.” That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For the scriptures says, “Whoever believes on him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon him. For whoever calla on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Texts:Romans 10:1-13).

Unsung heroes are violent non violently

If you are one of those people, who like the happy days of Sundays. In church, where nothing happens besides smiling and singing, these discussions are not for you.

But on the other hand, if you have the spirit of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a Lutheran clergyman in Nazi Germany. Who would not flee the country, but stayed to oppose Nazism. He was later imprisoned and executed. While in prison, knowing his fate, he had the strength to write manuscripts. Which were later published as books about the true cost of being a Christian.

Dietrich’s courage lives on to inspire the people belonging to Christ. Because the voice of God can never be silenced because of this Pauline promise, “For IF, we have been united together in the likeness of his death, certainly we shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,” Romans 6:5. Meaning of course, that no matter whatever our fate, others will pick up His cross in the execution of His mission. And for those, who made the ultimate sacrifice, the likeness of His resurrection will someday occur. Then these discussions are for you.

Then you may want to join us, and become part of an underground movement. Designed to defend the church and advance the cause of Christ. Interested? Then get in touch through the contact us tab associated with the navigation link.

One of the doctrines of situation ethics is to learn to be violent non-violently, an art taught by this padre. Learn it! Get in touch!

Happy Days filled with smiles is for a future time. A time when Christ has established His Kingdom on this earth. For all of us believers, that will truly be a time for smiling and singing. In the meantime serious work remains to be done.

Prosperous walk of life

Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.

A good man obtains favor from the lord, but a man of wicked intentions, he will condemn.

A man is not established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous cannot be moved.

An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones. (Think in terms of a prophetic announcement fulfilled through Christ. Then one of the seven angels, who had seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride of the Lamb’s wife.” And, “Husbands love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her. That he might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that he might present her to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, but that she should be holy without blemish,” (Texts:Revelation 21:9; Ephesians 5:26-27).

The thoughts of the righteous are right, but the counsels of the wicked are dreadful.

The words of the wicked are lies in wait for blood, but the mouth of the upright will deliver them.

The wicked are over thrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous, will stand.

A man will be commended according to his wisdom, but he, who is of a perverse heart will be despised.

Better is the one, who is slighted, but has a servant, then he who honors himself but lacks bread.

A righteous man regards the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread, but he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.

The wicked covet the catch of evil men, but the root of the righteous yields fruit.

The wicket is ensnared by transgressions of his lips, but the righteous will come through trouble.

A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the recompense of a man’s hands will be rendered to him.

The way of a fool’s wrath is known at once, but a prudent covers shame.

He who speaks truth declares righteousness, but a false witness, deceit.

There is one who speaks like a piercing sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health.

The truthful lip shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but counselors of peace have joy.

No grave trouble will overtake the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil.

Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who deal truthfully are his delight.

A prudent man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.

The hand of the diligent will rule, but the lazy man will be put to forced labor.

Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.

The righteous should choose his friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, but diligence is man’s precious possession.

In the way of righteous is life, and in its pathway there is no death. (Texts:Proverbs 12:1-28).

What many want understanding of sorrow

An amaranth grew beside a rose. “How lovely you are,” it said to the rose, “and desirable in the eyes of the gods and men! I felicitate you on your beauty and your fragrance.”

“But my life,” replied the rose, “is a short one; even if no one cuts me, I wither. You continue to bloom and always remain fresh as you are now.”

Aesop suggests that it is better to be content with little and live long than to enjoy a short spell of luxury and then exchange it for misfortune, or even death. (source:Fables of Aesop-Penguin Classics-“A Fabled Flower That Fades Not”)

Like Aesop’s flowers, Paul correlates two lives, one which fades away while the other flowers forever. Which in the end is the flower worth cultivating. And the flowering begins, “Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain, we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and gentleness.

Fight the good fight of faith, and lay hold on eternal life, to which you are called and having confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses,” 1 Timothy 6:6-12.

A discussion for the people within the family of God. Which, requires the experience found in 2 Corinthians 5:17. When it happens, you’ll know it. So, if that is not your experience, and you’d like to become part of the family of God. Follow the instructions recorded in Romans 10:9-10.

Whipped and Beaten

A wild ass which saw a tame one sunning itself went up and congratulated it on its sleek condition and the good food it enjoyed. Later, however, he saw it with a load on its back. And, a driver following behind beating it with a stick. “I can’t congratulate you now,” he said, “for I see you have to pay dearly for having plenty to eat.”

There is nothing enviable in advantages which are obtained at the price of exploitation and suffering, concluded Aesop. (source:Fables of Aesop-Penguin Classics,”Counting the Cost.”

There is a cost for being who we are. Because we inherited the fallen natures of humanities first couple. A guy named Adam and a gal named Eve. And part of the cost of being who we are requires the following. The ground is now cursed and in toil we all eat from it. It is infested with weeds. And, from that difficulty humanity would manage a harvest. And that harvest would require the sweat from the laborers brow all our lives, Genesis 3:17-19.

As we all know, life isn’t a bowl of cherries. We just must make the best of it and sometimes under excruciating circumstances. It doesn’t matter our station in life everyone is cursed to burdensome toil.

Our God is interested in fairness. So I leave you with these two lessons the first one is from the book of Matthew and the other from Luke. When Jesus organized His twelve disciples, meaning messengers. He sent them to forth to do good among the people. That account can be read in Matthew 10:1-10. You’ll notice that in verse ten that the twelve were told that they were worthy of their food from the efforts of their labor.

Then in Luke, Jesus organized another group of seventy. Sending them forth into the community in pairs of two. They were being sent forth to reap the harvest from the preaching of the gospel, Luke 10:2. But the labor would be difficult, verse three. But no matter what the labor, the worker is worthy of their hire, verse 10.

Jesus was a God fearing man, who was sent to do the work of His Father. So one would expect His concerns to be of a religious nature. But in the service of the Father, He was concerned about fairness in the work place. As should we, who call ourselves Christians. But it is one place among many, where we, the Christian community have failed miserably. Mainly because many Christians have been convinced by corporate conglomerates and their governments. That the market place should be allowed to to take care of itself. As most know, that notion is called capitalism. Which is really the doctrine of exploitation and suffering. And it should be no less an evil to us, as were the evils viewed by the wild ass. As he observed the horrendous infliction of exploitation and suffering upon the tamed ass. Which begs the question, is the Christian community today nothing more than a bunch of tamed asses? Beaten into submission by the drivers of corporate conglomerates, who wield burdensome loads upon the backs of the workforce. And all at the behest of the government. As all should know, profiteering at the expense of the labor force is the American creed. As the Christian community sings, “Onward Christian Soldiers.”

Keep that tongue in check

or, it’ll get you in trouble.

A lion and an ass made a partnership and went out to hunt. When they came to a cave in which there were some wild goats. The lion stood at the entrance to watch for them coming out while the ass went inside to scare them. The lion caught most of them, and then the ass came out, and asked if he had put on a good show at driving them out? “I give you my word,” replied the lion. “I should have been frightened of you myself, if I hadn’t known you were an ass.”

People who brag to those who know them must expect to be laughed at, concluded Aesop. Source:Fables of Aesop-Penguin Classics, “Sound and Fury Signifying Nothing.”

Kind of an ancient Greek philosophical assumption about bragging. But its theme reverberates through out scriptures. But not to much is said about it despite the harm and evils caused by the bragging tongue. While on the other hand, the tongue is a powerful gift from God which can, and should be used to serve and honor God.

James had this to say about bragging, “The tongue is a little member and boasts great things. Behold! How great a matter a little fire kindles,” James 3:5. Because “The tongue of the wise uses knowledge correctly but the mouth of fools pours out foolishness,” Proverbs 15:2.

Let us work to be less like the self serving ass, and more like the wise, as discussed yesterday. Aware of the fire that little instrument can kindle. Making sure that it fires knowledge and avoids pouring out foolishness.

The destiny of thought

“Truth does not become more true by virtue of the fact that the entire world agrees with it, or less so even if the world disagrees with it,” Moses Maimonides.

“Mad is to hold an erroneous perception and argue perfectly from it,” Auralio Voltaire.

“He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice,” Albert Einstein.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things,” Paul, Philippians 4:8.

No doubt if you hold to those truths, you’ll find that most disagree. Because they’ll hold an erroneous perception about truth and argue, perfectly from it. It’s the way most march joyfully to the music of the rank and file. Really in no need of a brain because a spinal cord would fully suffice.

Only in Christ, do we learn to think and act. Because, He gives us the insight to understand the erroneous perceived truths of the majority. Enabling us to ignore their seemingly perfect arguments. By being in full command of the brain God gave us. All because we learned that all things can be accomplished through Christ, who strengthens us, Philippians 4:13. And that strength comes from the teachings of the Psalmist, who wrote, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the council of the ungodly, nor stands in the paths of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the ungodly. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.” He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season. whose leaf shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. (Scriptural text:Psalm 1:1-3).

The ideologies of delusions

From all we know about God, perhaps his most astonishing feat was while still being God, he became fully human, John 1:14. Later, Jesus had a discussion with a successful young man. Who referred to Jesus as the Good Master. There Jesus set the record straight. Why call me Good? Because there is no one good, but God, Luke 18:18-19. Suggesting that Jesus is either God, or there is no God. Which creates the argument offered by many that God is a non existent being. Just the delusional hope of ones imagination. Meaning those of us, who name him not only as our God but also as our Savior. Really are what many people accuse us of which is being, a collection of fools, steeped in superstition.

But that is easy to refute with the billions of people through the ages, who have experienced his life transforming power. Combined with the road map of history unfolding before us today, which we call prophecy. With such convincing accuracy about the reasons for the global economic crisis. And exactly, how it will play out upon the world stage. To how a small nation, Israel surrounded by many hostile nations determined to wipe her from the face of the earth and can not. But who will form a confederation of nations beyond the Middle East to finally attempt such a feat. And with a degree of success, for a while.

Coming right back to where we started, with the words of Jesus. As he asserted his deity before his critics, when he said, “I and my Father are one,” John 10:30. And as far as words are concerned, this is recorded. “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God. The same was in the beginning with God,” John 1:1-2. Meaning the three are one and the same. God is Jesus, Jesus is God, and the Word makes them one. Because his name is the Word of God, clothed with a vesture (body) dipped in blood, (the holiest of all sacrifices), Revelation 19:13. Fulfilling the eternal promise of God Almighty. Which cancels out the possibility, for the non existence of God.

And putting the shoe, on the the other foot where it belongs. Because to deny the existence of God from such clear evidence. Makes those naysayers the people steeped in the delusional hope of ones imagination.

Flight 253

What the past can teach us about Boston’s marathon bombing. It’s the plight of flight 253′ near destiny with death. I wasn’t going to blog about it. Why? Because Muslims assorted attacks are rather routine, guaranteeing that’s it’s only a matter of time before an American airline meets its destiny with death at the hands of a Muslim.

But I changed my mind for several reasons, mainly because of one passenger. Who clearly demonstrated what one determined person can accomplish. Passenger, Jasper Schuringa, who leaped over seats subduing the wanna be suicide bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. Who in the process suffered burns to his body as did the suicide bomber.

Then hoping that others might come to understand what determination can accomplish. With that in mind, I leave you with this thought. “The world is moved not only by the mighty shoves of the heroes, but also by the aggregate of tiny pushes by honest workers,” Helen Keller, 1880-1968.

Followed with this near tragedy over American waters, as flight 253 headed for Detroit’ Metropolitan airport. Which provided an opportunity from history to explain Muslim behavior.

Many think sin against God has no consequences. Well it does and here is a perfect example. And! It’s haunting the world today. The Muslim genetic code predisposes them to violence because of a sin committed by Abraham. In Genesis 16:12, this Abrahamic indictment appears. “And he shall be a wild man (Ishmael v.11); his hand shall be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presences of all his brethren.” Why? Because Abraham fathered Ishmael through the Egyptian maid servant of his wife. Which makes Ishmael the illegitimate son of one of the worlds three monotheistic faiths, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. And! Islam an illegitimate religion. Muslims trace their lineage to Abraham, as does Judaism and Christianity. Crediting Ishmael as being the founder of Islam. With the angel of the LORD telling the Egyptian that her seed would multiply exceedingly beyond number, Genesis 16:10. With her seed having indeed multiplied into many nations. And from all that, the world has the wild people of Genesis 16:12. With its near disaster of flight 253 parading around the world. Maybe God is saying, wake up world, and deal with this Islamic menace. And that’s another reason why, I decided to blog flight 253.

Last, and maybe most important, the lesson learned from flight 253. Is that a private citizen may well have saved flight 253 from its destiny with death. And another lesson learned, is that the government is inept at protecting the American people. Which is why two Muslim devils, brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev successfully detonated two bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Resulting in the greater Boston area being brought under marshal law. Because the government refuses to except the premise, that the Muslim people are at war with the other two monotheistic faiths of Judaism and Christianity.

After all you can’t expect darkness to comprehend light said Jesus in, John 1:5, and key to understanding the times are these words, Why do you not understand my speech? Even because you can’t hear my word, John 8:43.

This discussion cries for a sense of urgency grounded in individual awareness and then collective action. In order to spare ourselves  more grief from this Muslim menace that is growing like an incurable cancer. Surgery is the call of the hour.

Christians should  engage themselves in the study of the topics of this discussion. Which will take you beyond its contents. And while there, if you got the time, browse the over 1500 other discussions with many of them dealing with Islam. You’ll even find discussions on how America came into existence. Because of Jacob the father of Joseph, and grandfather of Manasseh. You’ll see what these monotheistic faiths of Judaism, Christianity and Islam all have a scriptural history and destiny. Learn about them because that’s what today’s world conflicts are about.

The indefinable defined

The process of defining God seems to be a preoccupation with many people. Some define God as loving, merciful, ever present and all powerful. But such attributes, most say, can be called into question just by the absurdity of the human condition.

Why would a loving, merciful creator, who knows everything, is ever present and with great power allow such mockery? Especially, as one looks around the world, and discovers the slaughter of people, often innocent people in the name of someones God? Taken in the context of a God, who knows everything and is everywhere at the same time.

One writer provides humanity with a plausible answer. “I will bring distress upon men, and they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD; and their blood shall be poured out like dust, and their flesh like dung!” Zephaniah 1:17.

But there is hope because the problem isn’t with God, it’s us! It starts this way, “So if you return to Me, and keep My commandments, and do them, though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and will bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling for My name,” Nehemiah 1:9. With dual applications, for the Jews the promise lands of Palestine. Over flowing with milk and honey or prosperity. Including all of Jerusalem, as the Jewish capital. An invincible state because of its impenetrable alliance with God. Against all it’s Arab/Muslim and gentile peoples, who are the enemies of Israel. And sad to say, it appears that the Unites States is joining hands with the enemies of Israel. At least that will be the outcome, if President Obama prevails in his campaign against the Jewish state, as his second term winds down. Stand with the Jews wherever a Jew is found and the state of Israel.

But time passes, and the more things change, the more they stay the same. A world in rebellion against God. So in the providence of time a marvelous occurrence occurred in heaven. Described as follows, “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on earth, to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people,” Revelation 14:6. God’s perfect hope for a world badly in need of hope. And the only solution to the naysayers, who fault God for the human condition.

With John telling us what we all want to know and have, is a better world. Is accomplished this way, “But these things are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name,” John 20:31. And then revisit all the aforementioned scriptures, and apply them to your life and your world.

Be a spoiler like the Galilean

Stretching across eons of time and begging today for recognition. Arrives these heralded words. Tell the daughter of Zion! Behold your King comes unto you meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt, the foal of an ass, Matthew 21:5.

From that triumphant entry into Jerusalem would come freedom from the misery of oppressive bondage and exploitation from the result of social intercourse between people and nation states. The building of a new world for the glory of God with all of its peripheries of institutions. But before that could occur, *the God man,* would have to come to be activated within everyone. The very presence of God would dwell in His creation. For that to occur, people would have to respond to His sacrifice of Himself for the remission of sin. Offered to Jew, and Gentile alike, which was the end step of a 33 year journey. Which started, with his historical ride upon a humble animal into Jerusalem.

Secondary, but important to His sole purpose was deliverance from the, *tried and failed.* With no need for elaboration, is this a sick world, yes it is, most would agree. Then this is the eternal sacred message that should be heralded today. With people today following the scriptural example of the multitudes, who preceded Jesus in Jerusalem. The people cried out saying, Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest, Matthew 21:9.

With Hosanna meaning, *liberate us.* Have you noticed that there is a spirit of rebellion sweeping across the nation. People are expressing their tiredness with the ‘tired and failed.’ Whether it’s politics, commerce or the way ones neighbors behave.

Here is something a little personal. I’m older than most. So I go back to a time, when my father made business contracts through handshakes. Here is what governed his contracts. “You shall not cheat your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of him, who is hired shall not remain with you all night until morning,” Leviticus 19:13. Because it was a matter of character, and personal integrity. You got paid, or you paid up, so there was no need to hang around.

Society needs to hear the two fold proclamation of *Hosanna.* Changed lives through Jesus and liberation from our oppressors. Always anxious to hear what your are doing for Christ, or what you’d like to be doing.

As the call for change, sweeps the nation, here is a piece of thought provoking change for the bold and brave. Egypt in our scriptures is synonymous with oppressive cruelty upon God’s people. For example one might say, that the U.S. government is oppressing the voice of Jesus in its governance of the nation. As God said to Moses, he reminds us today. “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them; (and the U.S),I am the LORD your God. According to the doings of the lands of Egypt, where you dealt, you shall not do; and according to the doings of the land of Canaan; where I am bringing you, you shall not do, nor walk in their ordinances,” Leviticus 18:3.

Certainly the many voices of America today holds Christians shackled to the chains of governance that is contrary to our scriptures. Therefore, we the living personage of the God force, need to rebel. Breaking those burdensome chains of anti-Christian secular, political, corporate and religious bondage. And usher in people, who will place America where she came from. Christ centered, as seen seen from the perspective of Matthew 5:15. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

So for you spoilers out there like the Galilean get together with the like minded, and see what spoiling can be done for Jesus and country.

Man is an awesome creation of His creator. Capable of doing the unimaginable because God is greater than His creation. Souldier up and and get going! Because, “If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments, and perform them. You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight,” Leviticus 26:3,7-8. Three examples no politics as usual. End same sex unions. Seeing Muslims for what they are evil. The enemies of Christianity and thus the enemies of America. The daughter of Zion is America!

I’ll cook you dead

With death having many faces which might be creeping over the horizon faster than expected. If, there is any merit in the following satire whose source is unknown.

Birds are using potholders to pull worms out of the ground.

The trees are whistling for dogs.

Hot water now comes out of both facets in the sink.

You can make sun tea instantly.

You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 in the morning.

You realize that asphalt has a liquid state.

You actually burn your hand opening the door.

You discover that it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.

The best parking place is determined by shade, instead of distance.

The temperature drops below 95 degrees, and you feel a little chilly.

Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.

But this source is known with most mocking its credibility in the 21 century. Wondering why would anyone give credibility to a source full of contradictions. Probably for the same reason most of these same naysayer’s mock global warning as a serious threat to human existence. Also pointing out that science in itself serves up contradictions. So in the end, the effects will produce the truth.

“To me belongs vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time. For the day of their calamity is at hand, and things to come hasten upon them,” Deuteronomy 32:35.

A Bird in the Hand

A lion was just going to devour  a hare which he had found asleep, when he saw a deer go by. So he left the hare to pursue the deer, and the hare awakened by the noise, ran away. After a long chase, the lion found that he that he could not catch the deer. And when he went back to get the hare, he found it had taken flight. “It serves me right,” he said, “For letting go the food that I had in my grasp, in hope of getting something better.”

Aesop concluded:Men are sometimes like the lion. Instead of being content with moderate gain, they are attracted by some more alluring prospect. And are surprised to find that they lose even what they could have been sure of having. (source: Fables of Aesop-Penguin Classics-“A Bird in the Hand).

The aging apostle Paul, fierce persecutor of Christians and known as Saul. Until he bumped into Christ and was knocked to the ground. To be told that the old days were over. A new day had arrived in which he would serve, Him whom He had persecuted. The account of this chosen vessels life changing experience is found in Acts 9:1-19.

Think in terms of yesterdays discussion with this discussion being an addendum to that discussion.

And over the years, Paul no doubt encountered lots of lion like behavior among those whom he served. Maybe even the young Timothy to whom he wrote a fatherly epistle. Saying, “But godliness with contentment is great gain; for we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain, we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therefore content,” 1 Timothy 6:6-8.

Why such good advice to Timothy? Most likely from experience because maybe Paul chased that illusive deer too. Because he wrote, “Not that I speak in respect from want; for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, in this be content,” Philippians 4:11.

Wages of Treachery

The wolves said to the dogs, “Since you are exactly like us, why do you not come to a brotherly understanding with us? There is no difference between us, except our thinking. We live in freedom. You cringe like slaves to men, letting them beat you and put collars on you, and guarding their flocks for them; and when they eat, they throw the bones to you. Take our advice. Hand over all the flocks to us; then, we will share them between us and gorge ourselves.” The dogs listened to this proposal. But as soon as the wolves got inside the fold, they started killing the dogs. Such is the reward of traitors to their own countries.(source:Fables of Aesop-Penguin Classics-“The Wages of Treachery”)

While Aesop limited his fable, between people and country. Its treachery has other applications, like the following. Which can be applied to a wide range of scenarios, way beyond Aesop’s fable, as noted from Isaiah 5:20-24. “WOE unto them who call evil good, and good, evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter. WOE unto them who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! WOE unto them, who are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mix strong drink. Who justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him. THEREFORE; as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust, because they have cast away the law of the LORD of Hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel,”

Treachery by any means, for any purpose is a deadly device. Sure way to avoid such occurrences is to be consistently engaged this way; “Direct my steps in Your word, and let not iniquity have dominion over me. Deliver me from the oppressions of man, so will I keep your precepts.” (scriptural texts:Psalms 119:133-134).

Survival When Others Panic

“Princes, also did sit and speak against me, but your servant did meditate in thy statutes,” Psalms 119:23-24.

Nothing is easy or free, it requires this application in one form or other. “Whoever ceases to be a student, has never been a student,” George Iles.

In order to understand and experience Psalms 119:23-24, indeed it takes the application of a serious student of the scriptures. Far to many, have never been serious students of the scriptures. Therefore; unable to experience HIS delightful testimonies, as scriptural counselors. Thus they panic, absent the meditations of His statutes which brings about survival.

A step in the right direction, as you study the scriptures. PRAY: “Order my steps in your word, and let not iniquity have dominion over me. Deliver me from the oppressions of man; so will I keep your precepts. Make your face to shine upon me, and teach me your statutes,” Psalms 119:133-35.

TIP: Memorize those  scriptures, and pray them silently to yourself all day long. It’s the work of a student and it works.

Y wonderland went belly up

Everything that was, is, and will be, has been scripted by God beforehand. And it was said in the previous discussion that God never intended for his people to be governed by monarchies or democracies. Because they are not God centered, but rather self serving buffoons. Who get their energy from their adulating puppets, who urge them on. All of them are craftily manipulated by paranormal influences. Vividly; unveiled, so that we, who had once experienced the prince of the power of the air. Understand why they should be feared. Primarily, because they are not human. Yet; they are the rulers of governments, and are abetted through the facade of spirituality in high places. (scriptural texts:Ephesians 2:2;6:12).

There in one simple paragraph; that’s why governments can’t coexist, and learn to mutually help each other, so all can prosper.

This is the script writing by God, who was, is, and will be.

Here we find scriptures unveiling, why wonderland would go belly up. Saying once you have your own land, as a possession from God. You will want a king over you like all the nations that surround you. And so it shall be that when your king sits upon his throne within his kingdom. The first thing that your king must do is make a copy of the law which the priests have within their possession. And your king shall keep this book and read it every day. Because from it, your king will learn to fear the Lord his God. Then your king will understand the laws of his God. Furthermore, he’ll be able obey them and rule by them. (scriptural texts:Deuteronomy 17:14;18-19).

That was God’s world plan for his people. It was God’s intention that his people shouldn’t be governed like the other nations. But God already new that his advice would be rejected, and the Jews would opt to be like all other nations. It’s not that God couldn’t make them comply with his advice because he could. But our God is about liberty, and freedom to decide. And from those choices, emerges his bountiful rewards of prosperity and protection or the converse.

The calendar shows the Prophet Samuel serving as God’s selected official for the governance between the people and God. But as time would have it, Samuel became to old to govern. So he appointed his sons as judges to govern Israel. But that didn’t work because his sons became his antagonist. They governed the people by their ability to cough up money. With fairness, and justice being determined by the size of the bribe. (scriptural texts:1 Samuel 8:1-4)

Enuf is enuf said the elders among themselves. Then they approached Samuel, and said, “Behold, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations,” verse 5.

That just rubbed Samuel the wrong way. So he prayed, and the Lord said, “Listen to the voice of the people. They have not rejected you, but they have rejected me, that I should reign over them,” verses 6-7.

But don’t let it end there, said the Lord, “Argue with them, and tell them what they can expect from such a ruler.” Faithfully, Samuel did what he was told. Saying, “This is what you can expect from your king. He will take your sons and make them serve his interest. Your sons will work to make his economy profitable. They will be a part of his war machine. Advancing his cause over the interests of your sons. As for your daughters, they too will serve his economic interest. And worse yet, your property will not be yours. As your king will partition your property, as he sees fit and give it to others. At will, your sons may be forced to serve his interests. And he will force you to pay taxes into his treasury on every thing that you itemize as yours. And then he’ll disperse your money, as he wishes,” verses 9-17.

Then a time will come, when again, enuf is enuf and you will petition the Lord your God for deliverance from your king. But the Lord will not hear you in that day, verse 18.

Despite the promised misery the people rejected Samuel’s pleas. And said, “No, we will have a king over us. So that we can be like all other nations. A king that may judge us, and go before us, and fight our battles,” verses 19-20.

Samuel after listening to the people, repeated their words within the hearing of the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed their voice, and make them a king.” And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, “Go every man to his city,” verses 21-22.

And when Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said unto him, “Behold!” “The man whom I talked with you about, he shall reign over my people,” 1 Samuel 9:17.

From that history came the brewing of humanities miseries. Because the people choose a human monarch, over the King of Kings to be there ruler. Forsaking the Lord of Lords, who went before them in battle. Delivering them from their enemies greater in number and with superior weaponry. Taking the fruits of war and expanding their lands. As their God, he turned the fruits of war into lands of milk and honey.

And now you know, why wonderland went belly up.

Full pews and ringing cash registers

Here they are, questions to be answered about the dead, and the living, and everything in between.

We already know from yesterdays discussion that blessed are those who will have part in the first resurrection, Revelation 20:6. And the question has been raised concerning those who died before the time of Christ? Will they just continue to rest in their graves, according to 2 Kings 22:20?

And what about the millions since Christ, who refused his gift of everlasting life on His terms? And the many, who have murdered some of the saints and servants of Christ?

And from those groups people who will still be alive, when Christ returns for the second time, and ends everything according to 1 Corinthians 15:24. What will be their fate?

The second resurrection brings hope to the many who scoffed at all this God talk. Made fun of such talk, and ignored any necessity for the Christ demand of personal repentance from sin. With absolute belief upon him, as ones redeemer and Savior. Which dates way back, before the first advent of Christ. Including all the children to young to have made a conscious decision regarding the acceptance or denial of Christ.

Along with all the ramifications, as to what it means to be a human. Engulfing, and answering,  all those questions raised about people in the first few paragraphs.

It was put this way, John was told not to seal the words of this book; for the time is at hand, Revelation 22:10.Then God in his everlasting mercy, will reach out to them one last time, even after the death of some. People of all ages, irrespective of race, gender, ethnicity or creed. They will be given one last opportunity.

Standing before the Bright and Morning Star of all new beginnings, the Christ of Revelation 22:16. Inviting those not to reject his last plea, but to come and freely drink. With the Spirit (Christ) and the bride (Christians) saying, Come! And let them that thirst come. And whosoever will, let them take the water freely, Revelation 22:17.

Even at this stage of life, it’s about choice. Though the end of life from the Psalmist declaration in Psalms 90:10, had occurred for many (death). Death offered a second chance at life. But another negative choice will  result in the second death. Because death and the grave (hades) which had spared them could no longer, and they were cast into the lake of fire. That is the second death of Revelation 20:14. All because it is recorded, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire,” Revelation 20:15. And according to Revelation 20:14, the second death is a permanent state  unconsciousness and nothingness. In other words extinction with God showing his mercy. Meaning there will be no eternal damnation in hell begging for all eternity for just a drop of water.

It’s just a scare tactic used by many churches to keep the pews full and cash registers ringing.

YES! there is a real eternal hell to be experienced. It’s reserved for a very special trio. It’s recorded as follows, “The devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and false prophet are, and they will be tormented day and night forever,” Revelation 20:10.

For those who want to expand their understanding about life and death, and those world event in between. The two preceding discussions concerning death will be helpful. Perhaps you should engage yourself in some in depth research concerning the contextual subject matter of these discussion. Because what was said, just scratched the surface of some very deep and complex scriptural topics. Then you’ll be the owner of your discoveries. Which is the real bases, for any satisfying belief system.

How close are we to the precipitation of the events discussed during this discussion here? Not answerable! But we are given a clue from Daniel. “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase,” Daniel 12:4.

An illusive jewel-own her and own life

A lion was just about to devour a rabbit which he had found asleep. When he saw a deer go by. So he left the rabbit to pursue the deer. The rabbit awakened by the noise and ran away. After a long chase the lion discovered that he could not catch the deer. And when he went back to get the rabbit, he found that it to had taken flight.

It serves me right, he said, for letting the food I had in my grasp, in the hope of getting something better.

Humanity is sometimes like the lion. Instead of being content with moderate gain. Some are attracted by the more alluring gain. Only to be surprised to find that they lost what they were sure to have. (Source Penguin Classics-Fables of Aesop-“A Bird In The Hand”)

It has been said that a lesson learned is a gain of great value. Because that is the difference between being learned and smart. Being well learned is one thing, but turning that learning into smartness is another thing. That other thing is what we call wisdom. That very illusive jewel that everyone craves but only a few find which of course is the jewel of wisdom.

When found, wisdom allows the finder to avoid the folly of the lion, along with its accompanying regrets.

The Bible teaches this about wisdom. “Wisdom is the principle thing; therefore, get wisdom; and with all your getting, get understanding, Proverbs 4:7.

Wisdom is of more value than gold. While those in pursuit of knowledge, in itself an admirable pursuit. But its value compared to the wisdom is that to silver, Proverbs 16:16.

To understand a proverb (or a fable) and then its interpretation. Is to see what appears to be dark sayings in the light of the wise,” Proverbs 1:6.

In an age self gratification, when more is better people fall into the trap of the lion. But when the jewel of wisdom is found, this practical lesson is owned. “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us therewith be content,” 1 Timothy 6:7-8.

And Jesus said unto them, “Take heed and beware of greed, for a man’s life consists not in the abundance of the things he possesses,” Luke 12:15.

God the Father, who knows the needs of the birds and feeds them. And considers us better than the birds. The very God of the fields of lilies. Understands their growth, and are provided with what they need in order to grow.Telling his human creation, will I not much more clothe you, Matthew 6:26-31. Verse thirty one also suggests that being anxious is the way of the lion with its accompanying consequences.

The wisdom of the wise is to seek godliness above everything else. Everything else will fall in its natural order. As taught by Jesus through his illustrative pictures of nature. That is the illusive jewel, and those who own her, own life itself.

The good old days

Sometimes it’s the subtle things that destroy us. Like this bold concept from our founding fathers. As they etched these words more than two centuries ago into our Declaration of Independence. “… mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms they are accustomed ….” I have been intrigued by that phrase for a very long time, as I’ve watched it unravel itself upon the American scene. Concluding along time ago that it’s a perfect truism.

Reminds me of the American idiom, ‘better the devil you know than the devil you don’t. Seems like American’s really prefer familiar devils or things would be much different. Maybe the issue is that America has so many devils to contend with that it becomes easier to suffer the evils of those devils than to rid ourselves of them.

From this padres perspective the greatest devil that the populace is willing to suffer. Is its willingness to dispatch our Judeo-Christian heritage to the garbage can of history.

While Johnny-come lately is an idiom that refers to those who want to make changes that aren’t particularly popular. So lets do the unpopular and not allow our Judeo-Christian heritage to see the garbage can of history.

And maybe the God, who inspired and guided our founding Fathers will do the same for America today. I leave you with these thoughts.

John Adams, who became the nations second president acknowledged the following. “We Recognize No Sovereign God, and no King but Jesus,” 18 April 1775.

To his wife, Abigail, by letter, on the day that the Declaration of Independence was approved by Congress. “These principles upon which the Fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity …. I will avow that I believed and now believe that those general principals of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.”

So proud was, John Adams, of an emerging nation that would celebrate the eternal attributes of God. That he proposed that the fourth of July should be reserved as a day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.

Today we got the spirit of patriotic deliverance through acts of war on the fourth. But absent is a nation, who through solemn acts of devotion to God. Recognizes who made the victories on the battlefield possible.

America is moving in the direction of a pluralistic notions about God. That has always gotten God’s people in trouble. And America is in trouble because America was destined by God to be his light to the world. Today America is becoming all to quick to extinguish that light. In favor of as many god’s as necessary to make people feel fuzzy. More troubling for America is the notion embraced by many that there isn’t a God. Claiming that any God notion is just a way to mold acceptable behavior by religious sects. And often endorsed by governments and other power brokers. Who have a vested interested by using religion to promote what they call ethical behavior.

Oh Johnny, it’s better late than never. Oh Johnny, do you have it within you to fight to see America return to the America that John Adams served and admired.

A mind of Ideas

World problems today often seem to center around religious ideology. For this discussion a couple of thoughts from two profound thinkers.

“I distrust people who know so well what God wants them to do. Because I notice it always coincides with their own desires,” Susan B. Anthony, 1820-1906. Activist, teacher, who taught at a Quaker seminary and was very involved in fighting to secure a woman’s right to vote.

“Faith is essentially intolerant because it is essentially bound up with the illusion that ones cause is also God’s cause,” Lidwig Feurback, 1804-1872. German philosopher and anthropologist, who wrapped himself around this idea. Religion is the outward projection of man’s inner nature.

Could that possibly be the major problem in the Middle East? And is it possible that the tensions there could erupt engaging the entire world? The answer is yes! It’s called the Battle of Armageddon and it’ll take place in the Middle East.
