Its a world that makes no sense, unless you know what it means to have your name written in the book of life. Because if you do, then you know all about the Lamb slain since the foundation of the world, Revelation 13:8. Then the world makes a lot of sense. Because in this modern world, no court of law would demand stoning for blasphemy. Not even if the blasphemy was against God. That single act of blasphemy managed by religious and political partners. Is the pivotal point that will eventually usher in the wrath of God upon humanity. “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation (people not written in the book of life) (followed by the Dragon and his collaborators) and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb,” Revelation 14:10. Think that’s laughable, remember this, those who laugh first, don’t laugh best.
But the crime of blasphemy, in God’s court is a very serious crime. The law against blasphemy is one of the Ten Commandments. Blasphemy is defined for us in Exodus 20:7 as follows, “Thou shall not take the name of the LORD, your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain.”
Each commandment has a particular focal application individually and collectively for the individual and the community of nations. But the focus is primarily upon God’s people, and for our time, upon his body of believers.
There are some exceptions, with this particular commandment being one of them. I consider this fourth commandment to be the war of the ages. Because it is the struggle for not just the loyalty of humanity, but for the struggle for their souls and ultimately their final destiny.
It has played itself out this way for centuries. Right into our actual time of existence and for some undetermined period still ahead. It is what the beast of Revelation thirteen is about.
With Exodus 20:7, giving us God’s definition for blasphemy. This is how blasphemy against the LORD occurs. It occurs when someone claims to stand in the place of God. Claiming to have the same powers as God. That is what blasphemy against the LORD is all about.
It occurred for the first time in the garden. When the Serpent, the most subtle of all beasts, Genesis 3:1, told the woman that she would not die if she disobeyed God, verse 4. This serpent beast told the woman that if she followed her instincts. Then she would have her eyes opened, and that she, *would be like God, knowing good and evil,* verse five. Thus becoming equal to God. Standing in his place in the garden knowing the difference between good and evil. What was her punishment for her blasphemy? Perpetual hardships through childbearing, and the burden of male dominance, verse 16. And for the man, sorrowful labor just to eat, followed by death, verse 17-19. The saga continues today, different time, different players, same results.
Just prior to beginning his mission on this earth. This event occurred, Jesus was being baptized and praying, then the heavens opened. “And the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a loud voice from heaven said, ‘You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased,'” Luke 3:21-22. There we have the greatest mystery of all time. Like a dove, the one and the same, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
In due time God, “God sent not his SON into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved,” John 3:17. But Jesus said, “No person can come to me, except the Father, who has sent me, draws them; and I will raise them up at the last day,” John 6:44. Jesus said, “… I will give my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world,” John 6:51. That is the process of God’s sacred declaration for salvaging wreck lives. That had its beginning centuries ago, in the garden, as recorded in the book of Genesis. The single act in the garden by Eve and Adam condemned all of us. It is only through Christ that our individual condemnation is erased.
One of our concentrations is upon defining blasphemy from the scriptures. In the New Testament blasphemy is further developed in Mark 3:29. Where we read, “But he that shall blasphemy against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.” For some centuries now blasphemy has taken new twists and turns. By people claiming to have the ability to forgive sin. It occurs when someone claims to be standing in place of God. That was the crime that Jesus was accused of committing. Because he said, that He and the Father were one, John 10:30. Immediately stones were taken up again to stone him, John 10:31. Because these Jewish scholars understood the law laid down in Exodus 20:7. No person on earth can act as a substitute for God. Such an act is to take and use God’s name in vain which violates the fourth commandment of the ten. So these Jewish scholars said this to Jesus, “For a good work, we stone you not, but for blasphemy, and because you being a man, makest thyself God, John 10:33. It is clearly recorded that only God can forgive sins, if any institution or person claims that ability it is blasphemy, Mark 2:7. Jesus in his defense unequivocally make it clear when he said, “But that you might know that the Son of man has the authority to forgive sins,” Mark 2:10. Because of the mystery, and the miracle of the trinity, noted above.
In accordance with the fourth commandment and all the scriptural arguments presented. For any institution or person(s), to claim that authority is blasphemy against God.
Most people around the globe are caught up with issues that have no lasting substance. Some are personal while other such issues impact masses of people, but nevertheless having no lasting substance. Take the United States for example. The frenzy over ObamaCare and same sex marriages.
It all boils down to substances of no lasting value. In the end that focus only means more pain and suffering.
The focus should be to understand world events from a biblical perspective. They have lasting substance because of its eternal significances and consequences. The world community of people needs to come to grips with religious and political occurrences that have been boiling for centuries. Just when will that pot boil over, I do not know. When it occurs people will understand what the Archangel Michael meant when he said, “Woe unto the inhabitants of the earth.” A stark warning impacting few with fear. I fear!
This posting dealt pretty much with defining the phrase of blasphemy. Because the Beast of Revelation 13:1, had 7 heads with the word blasphemy on them. And that this beast would blaspheme against God, and that it would war against the saints (Christians) and all persons, tongues and nations upon the earth, Revelation 13:5. Not to be forgotten is the worship of this beast by the worlds inhabitants, Revelation 13:4.
What institution on this earth claims to have the power to stand in God’s place on this earth? None other than the Roman Catholic Church. Whose collective agents, starting with the Pope. Along with his subservient priests, who claim powers to forgive sins through their sacrament of absolution. Meaning to stand in for Christ on earth forgiving sins. Both occurrences represents the deadly sin of blasphemy against God.
When all is said, and done about the frenzy of events that capture the time of so many. You have read here some of the substances that really matters. The only way to Christ is through God. Who can end the suffering and pain that so many chase after.
That prospect is ignored in favor of the enemies of God, who commit blasphemy against God. Whose combination of powers comes from the Dragon. Woe indeed to the inhabitants of the earth for the cement is hardening. Daniel saw it as iron but when it collapses it brakes humanity to pieces, Daniel 2:40. And the Dragon will live on for a spell more. And his power, and influence reaching into future households yet to come, Revelation 20:1-3.
