On this day observed as ‘Mournful Friday’ by Christendoms revolutionaries because a fellow human being was killed by the state and the religious leaders of His day. Very much like us because it is written, “For we have not an high priest, who can not be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin,” Hebrews 5:15.
Wherever Jesus went He encouraged resistance to state policies and held the religionist in perfect contempt. Because He said, “I and my Father are one and the same,” John 10:30;14:7;1 John 5:7, and, “Repent or you shall likewise perish,” Luke 13:3. Words still disdained today by Christ deniers whether politicians or religionist. They thought His death would silence His movement. They were correct. The modern church is the perfect whore of the state. We have His disdain for governments recorded in Isaiah 40:15. And His contempt for the church in Revelation 3:14-17. Together they have silenced the Christ objection to state and religious corruption.
So with suspicion of future events Christ offered some parting words.” It is finished,” John 19:30 Standing near the execution spot was the mother of Christ, and Mary Magdalene His personal adviser perhaps history’s most influential women. Jesus looked at His mother and the disciple whom He loved standing near by, He said to His mother, “Woman behold your Son,” John 19:26. Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home, John 19:27. From those words from Jesus, “Woman behold your son.”
Many seek her supernatural intersession. Such an unfortunate occurrence, though blessed is the mother of Christ. Jesus never said that His mother could intercede on behalf of we sinners.
From time to time history puts forth an unusual person, sometimes a man like Jesus and at other times a woman like Mary Magdalene. Who then stand up and oppose the corruption of the state and church. We know what Jesus did. But few know that it was Mary Magdalene, who held the disciples together after the murder of Jesus. According to the Gnostic Bible, found in The Gospel of Mary, “The students were grieved. They wept profoundly saying, “How can we go to the gentiles and preach the gospel of the kingdom of the human child? If they did not spare Him, will we be spared?” Then Mary stood up, greeted them all, and said to her brothers, “Do not weep and do grieve or be irresolute, for His grace will be fully with you and will protect you. Rather let us praise His greatness. He prepared us and made us truly human.”
When Mary said this, she turned their hearts to the good, and they began to discuss the words of the Savior.
That was then but what about today? So the question is asked? What have you done to oppose the ineffectiveness of the state and church? And is there anything that we can do collectively to make the state more answerable to God’s edicts? And the church, a combative operative of the revolutionary Christ? Destroying the church as a snuggle bunny of the state! Can you not see how unchristian America has become from her past?
