“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he known them, because they are spiritually discerned.” See 1 Corinthians 2:14.

Unable to discern means that they are unable to see the difference between themselves and the people, who call themselves Christians. Perhaps that’s why everything Christian is all about foolishness. You have to look away from churched people. Because most of them are associated with conglomerates of entrepreneurs more interested in empire building than the causes of Jesus
Christ.

Hopefully the following will be helpful. The Christ focused and centered life is real. Experience that life for yourself from the comfort of your own home.
Here’s how. Slowly, and carefully study, Romans 5:6-21, until you know that you have at least some awareness of what is being said to you.

Then go to Romans 10:9-10, and confirm in your heart through your mouth what you have read. Wait awhile, maybe a few hours or so. Then turn to, 2 Corinthians 5:17, and discover the new you.

After embracing Christ, the next morning, I knew something was very different about me. I was in a very confined environment which didn’t allow for maneuverability. So I couldn’t go anywhere, had to stay put. But I had a Bible, and eventually I came across, 2 Corinthians 5:17. BINGO!

Hopefully, know what BINGO means. You don’t have to go to church. It’s suggested that you avoid such institutions. Because, few are palaces of truth, for reasons aforementioned.

But, you need to grow spiritually. So its suggested you study your Bible at home. Start you journey by studying the Apostle Paul’s writings. Starting with the book of Romans concluding with the book of Philemon. Again its suggested, study those books slowly and in a careful manner. Takes notes, and ask yourself questions with a determination that beings about answers.

When, your comfortable with your growth tackle the book of Acts in the same manner. This Padre believes Paul also wrote the book of Acts.

It might be helpful to start a Bible study group within your home adhering to the above suggestions. Overtime you, and study partners might become lampstands, who encounter angelic experiences. Fully able to enjoy Jesus in your midst. See Revelation 1:20 and Revelation 1:13.

Fly ur colors

they don’t matter cas the only color that matters is red. And their is plenty of it to be seen through the erupting nature of the environment. Expressing itself through the expose of the planet. Erupting volcanoes, bizarre weather patterns, wars of unprecedented numbers. Occurrences some say, as never seen before.

Red used as a substitution for blood spilt through all aspects of nature. Including its prime nemesis, humans.

For tomorrow, it is what it is. Not always majestic but revealing.
Is there any hope for global stability and sustainable resources for one and all?

how to recognize a phony

People ask, “How can I discover the will of God for me?” Don’t expect to hear a voice like Paul experienced, As he was on his way to arrest, as many Jews as possible. To be prosecuted for promoting a way to experience God other than through Judaism. Which was the experience of many people, as recorded through out the Bible, who were verbally, or through dreams had God’s will manifested to them.

Although there are many of the glergy who disagree. Mostly because they are prosperity entrepreneurs. More interested in empire building than adhereing to grace age teachings. They specialize in scare tactics in order to fill their pews and enrich their bank accounts. At the expense of spiritual enrichment.

Jesus said this about them, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but are inwardly ravenous wolves,” Matthew 7:15. Because, “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven,” Matthew 7:21. The verses between 15-21 are about the evils of prosperity entrepreneurs, as oppossed to grace age teachings given to the Apostle Paul during his three years of seminarian training in Abriba by Jesus Himself. See Galatians 1:15-18.

Peter chimed in, and said this about those prosperity entrepreneurs scatterd through out modern Christendom. “…, which untaght and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the scriptures,” 2 Peter 3:16.

Concerning the will of God, if not already, become a church drop out. Start a home Bible study, and consider inviting friends and neighbors to become a part of the group. Focus at first in a slow deliberate study of Paul’s writings.

Next, consider your passions of interest by instinct. Note the following, “For as, many, as are led by the Spirit of God, these sons of God,” Romans 8:14; and; “But if we hope for what we can not see, we eagerly wait for it with perservance,” Romans 8:25; concluding with, “And we know that all things work together for good, to those who are caused according to His purpose,” Romans 8:28.

a guy named paul

Proof perfect a paradigm from God, who allowed the Jews to walk away from all He had planned for them. Only to include them, and people everywhere in His new plan of redemption. And, He did it through a guy named Paul.

Recorded as, “For this reason I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles. If indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you. How that by revelation He made known to me the mystery by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ.

Which in all other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it had now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets. That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given me by the effective working of His power.

To me, whom am less than the least of all the saints this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ. And to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery which from the beginning of ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom, we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.” See Ephesians 3:1-12.

The words of Jesus recorded in John 14:13-14 simply do not work today. Doubt it? Apply them, and if by chance you get it. Then it occurred because of the contents aforementioned in this discussion.

O no not u again

A young adventurous mouse was outside looking for someone to join him in play. The mouse came upon a frog who joined the mouse in play. The mouse was to fast for the frog, and the play seemed unfair to the frog. So, the frog in an evil moment played a trick on the mouse. The frog tied its foot to the foot of the mouse. They made there way to a near by pond. And the frog thought to itself, now we’ll see how well my new friend plays in the water. The frog leaped into the water, and reveled in the water. Went to the bottom of the pond dragging the poor mouse along. The mouse swallowed to much water and drowned. Its bloated body made its way to the surface. A hawk flying above spotted it and snatched it up with its claws. The frog unable to free himself was also hoisted up with the mouse. The hawk ate him too.

The moral of the story is that even in death evil deeds will be avenged. Nothing escapes the eye of Divine justice. It weighs crimes in the balance and allots appropriate punishment. (Source:Penguin Classics-Fables of Aesop)

Dedicated to the many who have suffered an injustice. Because an injustice, is packaged differently from victim to victim. Some comfort perhaps, from the following, “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath; for it is written, vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord,” Romans 12:19.

“To me belongs vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time. For the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that come upon them make haste,” Deuteronomy 32:35.

The problem with our species is that we often demand revenge soon, and the sooner, the better. Which sometimes puts us out of sink with God’s timing, because, “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry; for anger rest in the bosom of fools,” Ecclesiastes 7:9-10.

And remember that God’s calendar for timing is sometimes equated as a day equaling a year, Numbers 14:34. In Ezekiel 4:6, God said, “I have appointed you each day for a year.” So one day would roll over 360 times according to the Jewish calendar for one year to pass. Peter wrote this, “But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, ‘that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day,'” 2 Peter 3:8.

What is important to know is that vengeance and recompense belongs to God according to his scheme of timing. The old adage proves true again, haste makes for waste. Better to wait for their foot to slide because their calamity is already under way. It is just a matter of time, and after all who knows what anxiety rages inside such predators. It has been said ‘a penny for your thoughts’ and such predatory thoughts could make one rich in justice alone.

when will beauty slay the beast

In this world two primary kingdoms exist. One represents everything that is evil while the other everything that is good. For the former many subsets exist, with variable shades of evil when compared to the latter. But nevertheless, they are all evil.

Which includes, our beloved United States. Equally unfortunately, is that the latter is spoiled by many existing subsets also. This latter group of subsets is characterized by the zillions of religions that dot our American landscape. And in some cases, adding to the evil that is desperate to over shadow the good.

It’s a battle that started centuries ago and explains conflicts between individuals and nations, even today. All conflicts boil down this truism, one way, or another, a better way is mine. therefore do as I say.

Centuries ago the Serpent said to the woman, “…. You will not die! God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will like God, knowing good and evil,” Genesis 3:1-5. And thus, perfect in judgment just like God. Which is exactly, what all evils promise which amounts to greater light.

It’s what the United States preaches to the world community, Follow us, and practice capitalism because it’s our form of freedom and democracy. Going as far as to suggest that the nation is perfect in its judgments. Resulting in being able to discern between evil and good. Going as far, as to project images, that makes us like God. Our God like character has given us the ability to create the worlds most advanced civilization. Is that not a part of what Genesis 3:4-5 teaches? And part of God’s response was to say, “… Behold! the man has become as one of Us to know good and evil …,”Genesis 3:22.

Our Bible paints evil as predators. Enduring over the centuries, as agents of darkness. Creating confusion because darkness is so persuasive, obstructing the brightness of the light and everything that is good.

The good is seen as the light showing the way. Allowing for the provisions of everything humanity seeks in our respective lives as individuals. Able to extend itself to the nation through the people. Able to engulf the community of nations. Which they are eager to emulate, but despite their best efforts, they fail. WHY? Because they admire our wealth, success and power. But they don’t want our Christ, who said, “I am the light of the world; they that follow me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life,” John 8:12. Therefore, they live in darkness and failure. So they rush to America to make their way our way. And that has become the modern American dilemma, especially from Muslims.

Daniel gives us a fleeting glimpse of this in Daniel 2:22, saying this, “He (God) reveals the deep and secret things,” Commentary: That’s what individuals and governments want. With the *deep* suggestive for what is craved. But for most it’s elusive, seemingly secret. Daniel proceeds by knowing that it’s the darkness that makes the light elusive. Directing us to know that it’s the light which dwells with God that makes that elusive light brighter than the rising sun. Promising to get even brighter, as the light progresses through the  ages of history but not without some very very troubling times, end commentary.

From Revelation 13:1-2, “And I (John) stood on the sand of the sea. …. And the beast which I saw was like a leopard …. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.” those few words, we have the worlds past, present and future sketched before us. Unfortunately for us, it is a chronicle of what darkness represents.

In order to understand those two verses, we’ll  return to the book of Daniel. Because  chapter two makes a comparative contrast between darkness and light which is so explicit. The extremes of the end between darkness and light are magnificent. Because no matter how dark times might get, the light eventually prevails. People should not miss the opportunity to come to grips with the many aspects darkness and light. especially the way current history is unfolding before us.

Here are some discoveries that wait the reader. The darkness of King Nebuchadnezzar is destructive and offers no hope. While the light is soothing because it represents God, who offers a bright future not based upon hope but upon His sacred promises.

Daniel (2:31-38) reconstructs for Nebuchadnezzar his forgotten dream. We discover that this grand image was magnificent, as it is beautiful. But its manifestation as a living entity was terrifying. What Daniel outlined for King Nebuchadnezzar, and for us today, were images of kingdoms or governments. But it does not mean much because it’s just a collection of metals and clay and other substances from the earth. Molded into a lifeless statue.

Starting with verse 36, Daniel interprets the dream. Sharing with King Nebuchadnezzar the existence of four powerful kingdoms. Telling him that he is the head of gold. And that his Babylonian empire would rule the then known world with authority and power.

One can only imagine the kings reaction upon finding out that other kingdoms would rule the known world after his fall from power. perhaps he found comfort of being told that they would be inferior to his Babylonian kingdom. But it didn’t end there because Daniel sets forth the characteristics of yet a fourth kingdom. This fourth empire is the strongest of the four. Though it too would be plagued with problems. Wars, and divisional conflicts among them will eventually return the EU back to its original ten state kingdom, verses 40-43.

Theologians and historians are generally agreed on a time scale four these four world empires. Suggesting that Babylonian empire reigned from 605 B.C. through 538 B.C. Followed by the Medo-Persian empire for the period of 538 B.C. through 331 B.C. To be replaced by the Grecian empire for the period 331-168 B.C. Only to see the creation of the Roman Empire from 168 B.C. through 476 A.D. This great Roman Empire which fought many crusades and humiliated the world’s modern day darkness of evil which was Islam. Only to find itself divided into ten kingdoms around 476 A.D.

And to really fast forward through the pages of history. It is thought today that the old divided nations of the ancient Roman Empire have emerged as the European Union. This emergence is still a work in progress. Along with rebirth of Islam as a primary source of darkness and evil. It is thought that it is from this time period. That the beast of Revelation 13:1-2, which John saw will emerge to terrorize the world.

Turkey has sought membership in the European Union. Seeing itself as much a part of Europe, as it is a part of the Middle East. It will not happen because Turkey is a Muslim nation. And the beast of revelation 13:1-2 is thought to be the Roman Catholic Church. The dragon will not allow such a union with Europe because the two have been mortal enemies for centuries. However it could be the converse with the Beast emerging from within a Muslim country like Turkey. This padre hold to the latter as being the feared predatory Beast.

Verses 44-45 of Daniel chapter two, the writer sketched the history of darkness and light. Showing clearly that the light which is our God, the Lord Jesus Christ will prevail as the Beauty, who slays the darkness of the Beast.

The question: When will Beauty slay the Beast? We don’t know! Because God hasn’t set a time, that is certain. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t take matters into our own hands, and slay a few beasts. Because there is a beastly presence willing to slay America. What is startles is that so few Americans understands this Islamic threat. So it’s about time to get plugged in so that you can unplug a few Muslims because that’s what they have planned for you. It’s called self defense and it should start within our churches. But that’s not going to happen because most of our churches are entrepreneurships. Selling the art of empire building through the falsehoods of deception.

So do your self a favor, if you are a church person, and make an exit. Start Jesus groups in your homes, and learn how to do the God thing through the Jesus way. Breathing some life saving oxygen into the lungs of our beloved America

And if you are, by good fortune, one of the unchurched do the same.

god’s World View

The Word of God provides this stern warning through the prophet Isaiah. “Behold the nations are as a drop in a bucket, and are counted as the small dust on the scales,” Isaiah 40:15a. In the previous verses this is recorded. The voice said, “Cry out!” And he said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is as grass, and its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of the Lord blows upon it; surely the people are as grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever,” Isaiah 40:6-8.

On occasions, this writer has discussed the duality of scripture. Meaning what is recorded has more than one application. In Isaiah 40:3, the mission of John the Baptist was foretold. It remained a mystery for centuries as to who that person was.

Upon being question as to his identity, John unveiled the identity of that person in Isaiah 40:3. John said, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Make straight the way of the Lord, as the prophet Isaiah said,” John 1:23.

We as Christians have a mission similar to that of John the Baptist. It was foretold that a voice would call from the wilderness. “Prepare the way of the Lord.” The Baptist completed his mission. Preaching repentance, and declaring that he was unworthy even to loose the sandal strap of Him who was preferred before him. See John 1:27. In the process, he lost his life in the service of his Lord, Luke 9:9.

The duality is as follows. “Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill brought low. The crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places smooth. The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken,” Isaiah 40:4-5.

Like the Baptist, we Christians are to “prepare the way of the Lord” While calling the people to repentance. For the one to follow will bring His kingdom to this earth. And again, like the Baptist, we to are unworthy to loose His ankle strap. All humanity will witness this event for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.

But the modern church has been severely compromised. Resulting in its teachings being considered a laughing matter. Which is unfortunate, because the last laugh may not be that of those are doing the ridiculing. But rather the laugh of the Great Dragon, that Old Serpent, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. With the scary part being that he has lots of help. See Revelation 12:9.

The process of defining God seems to be a preoccupation with many people. Some define God as loving, merciful, all knowing, ever present, and all powerful. But such attributes can be called into question, just by the absurdity of the human condition.

Why would a loving, merciful creator, who knows everything, is ever present, and with great power allow such mockery? Especially, as one looks around the world, and discovers the slaughter of people, often very innocent people, in the name of someones God. The question must be asked, why? Taken in the context of God, who knows everything and is everywhere at the same time.

One writer provides humanity with a plausible answer for the absurdity that engulfs the world. “I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD; and their blood shall be poured out like dust, and their flesh like refuse,” Zephaniah 1:17.

But there is still hope! “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth. To every nation, tribe, tongue and people,” Revelation 14:6.

Brevity is a sweet art because those who own that art can simplify complex exhortations. Zechariah is one of those figures. In a few words he describes God’s creation. In many respects humans are magical. We have within us something that allows us to experience God. In can be found in Zechariah 12:1, where the writer explains God’s creation and God’s final touch of instilling a spirit or soul in us.

Experiencing God is found though meekness and sincerity. “Be still, and know that I am God,” Psalms 46:10.

But before that can occur, an intermediate step is necessary. Martin Luther, the great reformer of Christendom taught that people find, and experience God through renouncing their sins which is one of God’s ordinances. Demonstrated though the act of Baptism, Mark 1:4. After having embraced Christ, as ones personal Savior which is another of God’s ordinances, Luke 2:11. Including the spilt blood of Christ, as symbolized by the eating of bread and drinking fruit of the vine. Which Christendom celebrates, as Holy Communion, Matthew 26:26-28.

The aid of a cleric in robes and fine linens is not necessary. That was one of Martin Luther’s great accomplishments. One person sharing a truth can grow exponentially, and can change the world forever. Maybe it’ll be you!

doomed

All the animals were making merry one summers day over the Sun’s wedding, and among the rest, the frogs were rejoicing. But one of their number said: You fools, why all this jubilation? One sun is enough to dry up all the muddy pools. If he marries a wife and begets a child like himself, we shall be a in a bad way.

A lot of empty headed people rejoice over the wrong things. (source:Penguin Classics-Fables of Aesop-“One Is Enough”)

In both the land of fables and the here and now. The same message is apparent because Jesus said, “Therefore I speak in fables, oops parables. Because though seeing, they see not; and hearing, they hear not,” Matthew 13:13.

No doubt the world could use some wise frogs to declare that their jubilation could very well be their doom.

aging what its like

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them.” While the sun and the light, the moon and the stars are not darkened, and the clouds do not return after the rain; in the day when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men bow down; when the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look through the windows grow dim; when the doors are shut in the streets, and the sound of grinding is low; when one rises up at the sound of a bird, and all the daughters of music are brought low. Also they are afraid of height, and of terrors in the way, when the almond tree blooms, the grasshopper is a burden, and desire fails. For man goes to his eternal home, and the mourners go about the streets.

Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, or the wheel at the well. Then the dust will return to the earth as it was. And the spirit will return to God who gave it. See Ecclesiastes 12:1-7.

the harp and golden bowls

Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp and golden bowls full of incense which are the prayers of the saints.

The most effective way to interpret unexplained symbols is match those symbols with other scriptural references. Because the scriptures are pretty good at explaining themselves. In Revelation 5:8, it’s said that each of four living creatures and twenty four elders each had a harp and a golden bowl filled with incense.

Turning to the Psalms this is recorded. “Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful. Praise the LORD with the harp. Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings. Sing a new song to Him; play skillfully with a shout of joy.” See Psalms 33:1-3.

The golden bowls filled with incense representing the prayers of the saints is a direct allusion to another Psalm. Which reads, “Let my prayer be set before You as incense.” See Psalms 141:2a.

The obvious conclusion is that those symbols represent praise and worship through song and action.

And embodied, in such prayers that we might offer could include these thoughts. “Set guard over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not incline my heart to any evil thing. To practice wicked works with men who work iniquity; and do not let me eat of their delicacies.” See Psalms 141:3-4.

Concerning the four living creatures and the twenty four elders see the discussions, “Freakish Things About A Place Called Heaven,” 11 May 2017. And, “Strangers In Our Midst,” 12 May 2017.

pirsig down by 100

Turned down by 100 publishers. Robert M. Pirsig, author of the 1974, philosophical classic, who journeyed readers into an inquiry into values, “Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance.” It’s been said that a million copies of the book were sold. Perhaps thousand more checked out at libraries or copies shared among friends. Dead at age 88.

Got an idea? Keep at it because that was the Pirsig model and it worked. It was also the Pauline model. The Jew hating prosecutor, who had a life turn around experience. And ended up writhing, fourteen New Testament books. The bedrock of Christendom from the first century, and just as relevant in our twenty first century. Here’s something he knew a lot about. So Paul wrote, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” See Philippians 4:13.

Paul had an interesting approach to life. It was one of get it done then you’ll abound. Wonder if it was the Pirsig model?

He’s a guy who was ship wrecked, shunned by associates and jailed. He revolutionized the world. By insisting that it was time set aside the culture and rituals of Judaism and embrace the Christ culture of receiving Him and then doing for Him. The setting aside of the works of the law. For the atoning grace, of Jesus. That’s what his fourteen books are all about.

Here’s the Pauline model for getting things done. Do now and get later “Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress. Now you Philippians know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.

For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you. A sweet smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. And my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” See Philippians 4:14-19.

Even the sweet smelling aroma which could have been used to barter with or exchange for food, lodging or travel. It’s all about doing and it’ll get done. It’s part of the Christ mystery.

in america something worth fighting for

Nature calls with her waning particularities in like manner. Because everything in nature has a beginning and ending, for our species, our waxing occurred by divine decree. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (Scriptural text:Genesis 2:7).

Fight for the celebration of life.

It’s what’s in between that we must make the most of. Because it’s divinely recorded, As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, to be flourished. For the wind passes over it; and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. (Scriptural texts:Psalms 103:15-16).

The in between starts with this memorial commemoration of our slain Savior that death could not contain. Recorded for us in Zechariah are these humbling words. That should incite Christendom to war against those who disrespect our Christ with their Easter like shenanigans. “And they shall look upon Me, whom they have pierced. Yes, they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son. And shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his first born.” (Scriptural text:Zechariah 12:10b).

And that’s what Holy Week should be about. Our liberator, who enter Jerusalem on the back of an ass. And paid for our sins on the cross, would have it no other way.

And with His single sacrificial act, we as a species, are very distinct from all others because we were created in His image. (Scriptural text:Genesis 1:27). And now, therefore, we are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and the household of God. (Scriptural text:Ephesians 2:19). That is the desired results from our celebration of Resurrection Sunday

With a new evolutionary cycle is in place lets march to this beat in preparation for Holy Week 2018. Making this happen for those outside the family of God. For we are all the sons of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you are baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave or free, there is neither male or female; for we are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seek, and heirs according to the promise. (Scriptural texts:Galatians 3:26-29).

In America that’s something worth fighting for.

gifts from the heart

Compared to Tuesday. Wednesday was quite and peaceful for Jesus. But no so for his enemies, as were plotting as to how to silence Him.

Jesus spent Thursday with his friends including the twelve disciples. Where once again Jesus had some unique things to say. They are found eating dinner when Mary arrived. Needing no special invitation because of her relationship with Jesus. Most come to Jesus in need of something, but not Mary. She went right up to Jesus, and with a very expensive substance; she blessed Jesus with an ointment. Her purpose was as an act of respect and worship. That ointment was a very expensive herb. Mary kept it in an alabaster box, according to Matthew 26:7. She applied the substance to the feet of Jesus. Then using her hair to wipe his feet. John chapter records that dinner table occurrence.

Judas Iscariot was present there as one of the twelve, see John chapter twelve verse four. He was outraged that such an expensive substance was used on the feet of Jesus. He demanded to know why the substance was not sold for a handsome profit because of its beauty and sweet aroma. With the money being used to help the poor. The poor from a contextual perspective should not be taken to mean poor like penniless. But rather Jesus’ commitment to make sure that ordinary people like most of us were not squeezed out or eliminated from the bounties of our labor. Through the greed, power and influence of the wealthy.

It’s not that Judas cared about the poor. He knew from the teachings of Jesus, and his personal observations, the personal commitment Jesus had for the poor. Suspecting his remarks would please Jesus.

Instead Jesus rebukes Judas telling him to leave Mary alone. Telling Judas that what Mary did was a symbolic act done to commemorate his death and burial. Suggesting the special relationship between the two. Mary knew the fate of Jesus from Jesus himself. Something the twelve disciples themselves were not aware of until later.

Jesus accepted Mary’s adoration of service. Telling all the guest and us as well. Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world. What this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.” See Matthew 26:13. Because she gave to Jesus and did not ask of Him.” A rare occurrence during the life Christ, then and now!

Jesus elaborated more telling Judas and the others that the poor they would always have among them to liberate. Saying, you will always have me with you on this physical plane. Meaning that once murdered, buried, resurrected and ascended, a new relationship between God, and humanity would be ushered into the world.

During this period God’s presences and influences would be very different. His presences would be revealed and experienced through our Bible. Without our Bible, we Christians would be hard pressed to determine truth from non-truths. As it is, its difficult to separate truth from non-truths because so many Bible expositors differ as to what is truth. Solution. Study your Bible carefully because it’s a complex book.
