Our world consists of two empires. Everything that exists within these empires operates through the controlling entity of that particular empire. Simply put those empires happen to have either God or the great Dragon at their helm.
This is how it came about. “And God saw everything that he had made, and behold! it was very good …, Genesis 1:31. “A war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him,” Revelation 12:7-9. In the midst of what God had declared as being very good. Allowing for the first human tragedy to occur, with things getting progressively worse, and here we are today were the worse will only intensify.
No matter what happens in our world today. It is the result of one or the other of those entities tugging at the souls of humanity for allegiances and dominance. There never has been, nor will there ever be a person, who has not struggled to submit allegiances to God or the Devil. Until the unfolding of this great event, “NOW I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea.” And I John, “Saw the holy city, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, “Behold! The tabernacle of God is with men. And He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. Nor shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.” And He who sat upon the throne said, “Behold! I will make all things new.” And He said unto me, “Write! For these things are true and faithful,” Revelation 21:1-5.
People often wonder what is God’s plan for them? What would He have me do with my life? For those of us, who know the newness of life through Jesus Christ, the answer to both questions is simple. In the intermittent period between those five verses of Revelation twenty one, God would have us introduce the gospel of Jesus Christ to as many people as possible. So that they to can be a part of God’s new tabernacle and enjoy the benefits of of the new as recorded.
But also as noted, there is the formidable forces of the great Dragon, that Serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, along with his angels to contend with.
From recent discussion, we know that this occurs as the Dragon gives the Beast power and great authority, Revelation 13:1-2. That introduction took us to the second chapter of Daniel where we discovered that King Nebuchadnezzar dreamt a dream about four empires. All four of these are clearly ancient history. Leaving us with the 10 divisions from the fourth empire to contend with. It is thought that that those 10 divisions are the re-emergence of the old Roman Empire which we know today as the European Union. But it will not constitute its current twenty seven member states, rather it will be a confederation of ten states which occurred around 476 A.D. But hold on, maybe that serpent of old called the Devil and Satan pulled of another grand deception. Perhaps what we are seeing going on over there is not a ten state European Union. But the emergence an empire worse than all previous empires called ISSI.
The Bible is a pretty amazing book that uses some rather ambiguous phrases. Like those in Revelation 13:1-2 where phrases like sea, beast, and dragon appear. Also we notice an assortment of animals with horns and crowns. With the beast having 7 heads with the word blasphemy appearing upon the heads.
These ambiguous phases are usually defined for us somewhere else in the Bible. What are we to make of the beast rising out of the sea? The answer is found in Revelation 17:15, where we are told that the waters represent people. They represent people by the multitudes who speak various languages. Who then constitute the world of nations. Suggests that the beast will come to power from a heavy populated part of the world (Europe). The following verse (16) confirms that this definition is associated with what John saw in Revelation 13:1-2. This is helpful, as we go to other parts of the Bible. Learning more about this beast and his power and influence.
We already know from the introduction to this discussion that the dragon is another term for Satan. We also know that his focus is to deceive the whole world. What a job he has done, and he’s just getting started. As perhaps ISSI empties her fury of evil upon a mostly unaware audience.
The Bible also tells us that these beast like creatures are kingdoms or governments with human leaders, Daniel 7:17. Daniel was greatly troubled by all that he dreamt, Daniel 7:15. Daniel sought the meaning for his vision without success. Suddenly someone appeared looking like a man. Who called and said, “Gabriel, make this man understand his dream!” Daniel became afraid (recall the last posting about suspense and drama. Image yourself as Daniel) and he fell on his face. But Gabriel said to Daniel, “Understand son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end.” And Gabriel continued, “Look! I am making known to you what happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the time appointed the end shall be,” Daniel 8:15-19.
Our journey will continue, as we examine the horrific slaughter that the Beast will inflict upon humanity.
