Unless he is a man of strong Christian convictions, who knows God’s stance on the subject. Time will tell because he will have to give a reason for his decision. He has already upset the legislature by saying that he will veto the bill. Charging him with interfering with the democratic process. The governor said that in these extraordinary times, the people did not need any more anxiety to cope with. Referring to the crumbling state of the nations catastrophic economic condition. Where each closing month announces things were worse than anticipated.
This bill by the legislature is not a bill about following the wishes of God. It is a bill about denying God. A decision to be made about godliness or the lack thereof, with perhaps God having had enough of people spitting in his face. And therefore, the tale of the nations multiple woes. This writer is not an admirer of the United States because of what it is and what it stands for today. However, this writer is an admirer of the Declaration of Independence. The Constitution itself along with the Bill of Rights. Because the, Declaration of Independence, contains the necessary ingredients to make the United States what it should be and what it should stand for. Along with other gems of profound enlightenment in the Bill of Rights.
More than two hundred years ago, fifty six men, gathered in the halls of Congress to affix their names to the Declaration of Independence. This writer has decided to plunk out a rather profound phrase which he has pondered for some time. While struggling, to determine its applicable meaning. Where they referring to past, current, or future events? Finally, settling on all three as markers of human nature.
From the document itself …”and accordingly all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed…”
Those words have many applications, but none more applicable than to the stagnate Church of Jesus Christ. The church has been predisposed to accept evil as tolerable and sufferable. With the church being so acclimated to the acceptance of certain evils. That the church can not rise to abolish the evils that are destroying the nation. It can be said that the modern Church of Jesus Christ is the problem and not the solution.
What a story those thirty words tell, from the nations, Declaration of Independence. Actually, you can read it for yourself, as it appears in the second paragraph. Along with some other gems. Like, “We hold these truths to be self-evident ….” “Governments are instituted among Men from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to abolish it.” University courses are taught from those thirty words. Leviticus 20:13 makes this very clear. “If a man lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
The morality of sexual unions sanction by God is recorded in Genesis 2:18. God said it is not good that man should be alone. Then God said that man should leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh, verse 24.
