Kill the Rooster

Some thieves traveling down the road discovered a rooster roaming in a farmers field which they carried away. They were about to kill it. The rooster begged to be spared. Saying it could provide a valuable service. What is this valuable service you offer? Spare my life, and I’ll wake you every morning at daybreak. You’ll never be late for the start of your work day! They replied that is why we got to kill you. By waking the people you stop us from misleading the public.

The moral of the story is the people who reveal truth are the governments worst enemy.

That is why Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is of to Europe in an attempt to silence the rooster concerning U.S. war crimes. Two Brits are charged with breaking the nations Official Secret Act. These men are charged with disclosing information damaging to the nations international relations. People who receive the information are also guilty of breaking the Official Secret Act. The memo was leaked to the press. The Blair government quickly suppressed the document from publication. The memo alleges the Bush intent to bomb Al Jazeera. Which the Bush administration admits occurred, but was an accident. Not once but twice! It seems that the Bush doctrine is to kill the rooster so the people do not learn the truth.

Then there is the serious war crime of the United States complicity in “ghost flights” by the C.I.A. of detainees to nations that allow for torture. The U.S. refers to such flights as “extraordinary renditions.” The practice amounts to the kidnapping of people suspected of being involved in acts of war against the United States. It has been reported that a German citizen was kidnapped and flown to a secret C.I.A. prison in Afghanistan. He was held for five months and tortured. Finally, the C.I.A. realized that they had the wrong man. The American government wants the matter hushed! More of the Bush doctrine;”kill the rooster.” It’s rumored that a major law suit is pending.

It appears more is about to follow. An independent reporter in Iraq alleges that American troops are raiding and disrupting the care of patients in local hospitals. If this account bears any truth it represents another war crime. One thing for certain the U.S. government will do everything in its power to kill the rooster.
