The disciples came to Jesus, when he was at the Mount of Olives. They asked Jesus the following question. What shall be a sign of your coming and the end of the age? Matthew 24:3. In verse five, Jesus provided the first sign in response to their question. When he replied, many shall come in my name and deceive many.
Deception is the oldest hoax known to humanity. Why are we so prone to being tricked? Most likely it occurs because there is something about us that is constantly seeking defining. It’s an all consuming life long struggle to define who we are which attracts one hoax after another which offers self identity. None is greater than the appeal of religion.
Gain some insight by taking a trip to our very beginning. Which dates back to the book of Genesis. There we find a discussion taking place between the mother of humanity and the serpent the perfect impostor of Satan. Amazing character this shape shifting fallen angel. Known by many different names. This angelic being so influential in world affairs but few know little about this angel. What’s to follow will shed some insight on a creature to be feared. Mainly because this angel is after you, if you think this is a joke, take notice of 1 Peter 5:8.
Get this because it’s very important when attempting to understand the signs that announce the end of the age which is often referred to as the Olivet Discourse. Because not every peddled hoax is a lie. In Genesis 3:5, the serpent told the woman the truth. For the serpent announced, “For God knows that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as God, knowing good and evil.” And indeed the mother and father of humanity had their eyes opened. Like God, they were made aware of good and evil. And inherited the consequences of evil, with its end which is death, as recorded in Genesis 3:19.
From there, humanities struggles began. Soon to follow, we have the first murder and our sad saga continues to this very day.
It’s not natural for humanity to be alienated from God. With centuries of history humanity continues trying to define itself. But the more humanity pushes for knowledge trying to answer the ultimate question. Who am I, and what is the purpose of my existence? The more confused humanity becomes as to their true identity and purpose. Making far to many prone to fall for one hoax after another which promises self discovery. Desperate to satisfy that inner graving as to identity and purpose.
Humanities identity and purpose is found only in Jesus Christ. Who Satisfies that inner craving for union with God. Because God, is giver of life, Genesis 2:17. Life is still a miracle from God. And that union with God is found with God erasing the evil, or the sin of disobedience inherited from the Genesis experience. And today expressed through 2 Corinthians 5:17.
But the Genesis experience of deception is far from over. For that great deceiver the serpent, shape shifter of the Devil is busy promoting one hoax after another. The Devils most recent successful hoax centers around the political/judicial system of Islam. Which camouflages itself as a religion, as it campaigns to oppress self discovery and purpose through its political/judicial mechanisms. Islam is the greatest hoax ever perpetuated upon humanity since humanities Genesis experience. And, Islam has been around plaguing humanity almost as long. Christian crusaders in order to rescue the world from Islamic mayhem have repeatedly hammered Islam into retreat and submission. Today the hoaxed of Islamic torture cry out to Christian crusaders for rescue once again. Who will answer the call? Certainly not the the government because the government is complicit in seeing Islam for everything it is not.
Jesus once had a discussion with a man who referred to him as being good. Jesus was quick to correct him saying. “Why call me good? There is none good but one, that is, God,” Matthew 19:7. Proudly presenting his credentials as God, John 10:30. Retold in Revelation 19 in this manner. There John describes the trilogy of God. Seeing a rider on a white horse. He identifies this writer as the “Faithful and True,” verse 11. His name, no one knew but himself, verse 12. But John informs us that his name is the “Word of God,” verse 13. Suggesting that only Jesus can understand the mystery of his own being. the very being of Jesus makes him God, John 10:30.
As the serpent beguiled the mother and father of humanity in Genesis; thereby, forever having changed the course of history. Moving on quickly, the serpent gave the world Islam. The instrument of evil designed to deceive many. The world is engaged in a real world war which most being unable to come grips with. Despite the constant explosions of violence. Because the shape shifting Devil can appear as a serpent for deceptive purposes or as an Islamic religious cleric announcing that Islam is a peaceful religion.
Jesus announced that “deception” is a prominent as a sign of his coming and the end of the age. The lesson of “deception” suggests a devastating hoax. Like what occurred in Genesis to the parents of humanity. The argument here is that Muslims are equal to the deception referenced by Jesus, as he answered the question presented by his disciples. With Islam being a major deception orchestrated by the Satan. Being able to shift his shape from a fallen angel to taking on the form of a serpent. With equal ability to take possession of human beings from within them. So as to execute the curse, saying I am the Christ; thereby deceiving many into accepting a god other than Christ. Don’t be hoodwinked!
