What yesterday tells us about tomorrow

“I once asked evangelists. Billy Graham, if he experienced temptations of the flesh, when he was young.’ He said, ‘of course.’ ‘How did you deal with them?’ ‘With a passion,’ he responded. ‘I asked God to strike me dead before he allowed me to dishonor him that way!’ ‘That is the kind of seriousness one needs to overcome the temptations of a corrupt culture in which shameful behavior is to often paraded in the streets,’” Columnist Cal Thomas.
Certainly, a befitting message for today which dates back to the early New Testament times. Where this is recorded, “And as Isaiah said before, except the LORD of Sabaoth (or Host) had left us a seed, (resisters) we had been as Sodom, and made like unto Gomorrah,” Romans 9:29. Places that experienced the wrath of God through utter destruction because decadent homosexual behavior. But God did indeed leave us a seed through Abraham. From Abraham’s seed many resisters of evil have marched across the canvas of righteousness. Denouncing behaviors insulting to our God.
Including Peter, who wrote for his time and ours. “And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them with an overthrow making an example unto those that afterward should live ungodly,” 2 Peter 2:6. Make no mistake, what God did to Sodom and Gomorrah by turning them into ashes, he can do to America. In America the shameful behavior of homosexuality is being paraded across the country as acceptable God honoring lifestyles. Such lifestyles are ungodly, and how God will judge America remains to be experienced.
We know that such judgments are certain because we have this promise. “Even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the citiesĀ about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh, are set forth an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire,” Jude 1:7.
God has promised that he will not be mocked, Galatians 6:7. In that same verse, promising that, that which is sown shall be reaped. God may not turn the cites of America into ashes from fire. But the same can be accomplished through the the unsettling events distrubing the nation now.
Certainly an army of Christian resisters is needed to challenge and turn back the ungodly from their various and asunder lifestyles. It also means turning back the agenda of the federal and state governments. Who campaign for acceptance of those who find comfort with strange flesh.
